‘KENTUCKY ROSES’: NEW FRIENDSHIP INSPIRES LOVE STORY
The first Hallmark title to debut in May, Kentucky Roses is a charming title that also has a bit of a historical time slip angle.
Kentucky Roses (2026) TV Film Review
The Kentucky Derby is an important event that needs to go smoothly. Ash Taylor (Andrew Walker) is the son of the Churchill Downs’ CEO, a man who has proudly built his company independent of his family name. In the midst of this, he encounters a snag when his father pulls him back for a job.
Elsewhere, another Churchill legacy descendent Sadie (Odette Annable) is trying to make her own way from the legacy the women in her family have as greenhouse workers. She has a creative eye and wants to be a florist. The pair meet and share a connection little realizing how their families are tied together.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘I’LL BE SEEING YOU’ IS SENTIMENTAL SPECIAL ROAD TRIP ROMCOM
‘KENTUCKY ROSES’: NEW FRIENDSHIP INSPIRES LOVE STORY. Review of the anticipated 2026 #Hallmark title with #AndrewWalker. #KentuckyRoses Share on XIn collaboration with Churchill Downs, this film was rumored a while back and is the third big partnership the Hallmark network has had. Ending the year, they have one with Disney (for their already hyped upcoming Christmas movie) and had had now two repeat collabs with the NFL. This one is obviously an ideal springtime release and has some pretty hats, dresses and just moments in general. This also follows in the footsteps, just on a larger scale, of last year’s Hats off to Love.

Also adding appeal, at least for the devoted Hallmark fans, is the addition of Andrew Walker, one of their favorite leading men. What I love best about the cast is the new faces in Odette Annable and Peyton Meyer. The Kentucky Roses script also adds in the past story angle and for many, this inclusion of old-fashion charm will add some depth and delight. I also surprisingly really did like the two leads together; they have a nice, easy going connection that may be awkward here and there, but this is part of its darling charm (and is very intentional in my viewing).
If you enjoy Hallmark, make sure to consider Kentucky Roses. One of their biggest titles of 2026, it’s really as lovely as its rosy title would suggest.
Stream, at publication (aka next-day), with Hallmark+; or catch the debut of Kentucky Roses premiering TONIGHT May 2 only on Hallmark Channel.
