‘HARRY WILD’ SERIES FIVE FIRST IMPRESSION: DETECTIVE DUO HAS NEW PUZZLES!
Series five of the Acorn TV favorite Harry Wild is now back and so of course, I have to feature it by adding a review to these archives. Most of all, I’m just genuinely excited to catch up with Harry, Fergus and company. Let’s see what they are up to!
Harry Wild, Series Five (2026) Acorn TV Review
Building their business means that professor turned private detective Harry Wild (Jane Seymour) now has something of a reputation. She and her partner Fergus (Rohan Nedd) have been working on more than one puzzling case, but a string of seemingly unrelated deaths is currently what is making them most curious.
One of their most dangerous cases yet comes to them through a newcomer, pathologist Pierce Kennedy (Joe Lando). A man who finds these cases do share something, he along with Harry begins to connect the dots when he finds the victims share musical tattoos. Along with Charlie Wild (Kevin Ryan), Harry’s son, a high-ranking guard, they put together the pieces.

Share on XBroken record is really the only thing I can say when it comes to reviewing the shows from places like Acorn TV. They consistently bring excellent stories to the game and a cast who tells the stories very well. This badge applies to Harry Wild, too. In particular, this year five has teased Harry Wild as one full of investigations that are the most dangerous of Harry and Co. This may seem impossible (we all remember when some of them were locked in a barrel!), well, we can only hope that they end up okay because of this.
For those who love pop culture, you will love seeing Joe Lando join the cast of this year. Lando and Seymour famously starred together in Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman where they played meant to be lovers. Naturally, this show is going to tease out a bit of a romance too but no matter how this shakes out, this is sure to bring in a new fan or two.
What I love about these shows is, despite the danger these characters face, they come out okay, and if this premiere is any indication, this season will (hopefully) continue that trend. I love how the humor is effortlessly here despite the heavier subjects of death and that the same characters return year after year. It’s also fun to see how Orla changes (the girl seems to like investigating now) and I still have hope Lola and Fergus will figure things out.
Bottom line is the same. Harry Wild is the kind of TV series you want to return to year after year. The humor and stories make us laugh and cry, but the characters keep us coming back every time!
