‘SUMMER SPARKS’: CONNECTION AND FUN COMBINE IN A CUTE MOVIE
A film I saw almost nothing about, this one is part The Parent Trap and part campy rom-com, but one thing Summer Sparks also has is entertainment.
Summer Sparks (2026) Roku Film Review
Summertime means camping and family. At least that’s the hope for Adam (Jesse Metcalfe), a dad who wants Camp Evergreen to be an experience that helps build more of a connection with his son. A cooking camp, Adam’s son, Ben is focused on cooking and already has plans to get into cooking school, which means this vacation is ideal for them. As they team up to join an annual cook-off, Adam meets the type-a Monica (Katheryn Davis).
A former childhood camper, she brings her own kids also hoping it will inspire a connection between them never expecting to meet someone like Adam and possibly sparking something new.

Review of the #Roku original #SummerSparks. #JesseMetcalfe Share on XThis is one of those films that is “easy” watching and certainly will inspire a giggle or two. All of which I say with nothing but positivity because who doesn’t love a cute summer movie? Summer Sparks certainly fits this framing, and it also has familiar stars if you are an avid TV movie watcher.
Davis has been in a few similar films and is always someone I like while Metcalfe is known from a teen film and more recently Chesapeake Shores. This one has plenty of those aforementioned laughs, but the script also has the leads playing characters looking to have greater connection with their kids so of course there is also lots of sweet heartwarming moments.
If you like any summertime movies with hijinks and silliness that will make you laugh, well, Summer Sparks, is a great thing to let yourself enjoy.
