THE FALL 2026 TV PREVIEW: SEE WHAT IS NEW!
Though I cannot remember why, the 2025 TV season wasn’t one we took a look at. However, the 2026 TV season is nearly here and as a result, it’s time to preview what new shows we can watch. From returning freshman dramas to new drama, let’s see what the big four networks (plus, yes, some of the big streaming titles, too) are dropping.

THE FALL 2026 TV PREVIEW: SEE WHAT IS NEW! Share on XI do plan to watch a couple of these, but honestly, as has been a recent year trend, I am not sure how many of these I will plan to “keep up” with but irrespective of this, here is what you can see new this fall!

NEAGLEY (PRIME VIDEO) – SEPTEMBER 16
ABOUT: From the world of REACHER, a new chapter begins. Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) is a private investigator in Chicago and former military colleague of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice. – via Prime Video
THOUGHTS: This is going to be an eight-episode binge drop and though it’s a streaming show (traditionally I keep this preview focused on the network shows), I have to confess, I am so excited about this title! It’s a spin-off of the massive Prime Video success that is Reacher and will focus on Maria Sten’s titular character, a character that I have loved getting to know. She’s tough and fierce and I love the bond she share with Reacher despite them both being very “lone wolf.” Needless to say, I hope this one is good!
LINE of FIRE (NBC) – SEPTEMBER 21
ABOUT: A family of law enforcement agents bridges personal differences and crosses professional boundaries as they tackle cases for the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice. – via NBCUniversal
THOUGHTS: This one is getting lots of buzz and is even, by at least one critic, possibly likened to the CBS franchise Blue Bloods (living on now as Boston Blue). It does have a good cast including Peter Krause (who is no stranger to a successful TV show) and I will admit, the premise sounds interesting. The concept is a family who works in various ways with law enforcement branches. The cast also includes Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett.
NCIS: NEW YORK (CBS) – OCTOBER 6
ABOUT: Legendary NCIS Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J) returns to his hometown of New York City to their field office, partnering with a roguish agent (Scott Caan)… – via Paramount
THOUGHTS: Another installment in the NCIS franchise (BTW, the OG show is hitting 24 years this fall) that is kind of new but also the same. It will be led by the already established character of Sam Hanna (from NCIS: LA) who LL Cool J played for the entire series run. In this show, he makes the move to the New York office where he is partnered with a new agent played by Scott Caan.
ETERNALLY YOURS (CBS) – OCTOBER 8
ABOUT: ETERNALLY YOURS is a family comedy centered around Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards) – a vampire couple whose once-passionate romance has devolved into a pulseless marriage after 500 years together. – via Paramount
CUPERTINO (CBS) – OCTOBER 8
ABOUT: CUPERTINO is a David vs. Goliath legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley that follows a lawyer (Mike Colter) who is being cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech start-up. – via Paramount
NEWLYWEDS (NBC) – OCTOBER 23
ABOUT: A later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry impetuously after a whirlwind courtship. – via NBCUniversal
THOUGHTS: This one is going to have Jamie Lee Curtis in a recurring guest appearance and will feature Tea Leoni and Tim Daley in the titular couple role. While there does seem to be some differences, I cannot help but wonder if this is a comedy that wants to take cues from Dharma and Greg.
PRIVATE EYES WEST COAST (CW) – OCTOBER 5
ABOUT: Shade and Angie have left behind their P.I. firm and settled into a new life on the west coast, but their new quiet life is shaken when a night out lands them at the scene of a murder. – via The CW
THOUGHTS: This is set to be a ten episode season run and will reunite Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson as Matt Shade and Angie Everett, private investigators who we met in Private Eyes, a show that ran for five seasons. This show upends their “quiet life” and pulls them back into the investigative game! Will you be watching?
