‘MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS’ RECAP: WHAT HAPPENED IN SEASON TWO?
A lot goes on in the season two finale of My Life with the Walter Boys which requires this little recap. Traditionally, there is always a lot happening in this show and the final scenes is no different. The show has characters trying to learn how to grow and be better and of course, it ends with drama, the kind that isn’t just about the love triangle (but of course there is that) but also a life-threatening event, too!

‘MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS’ RECAP: WHAT HAPPENED IN SEASON TWO? Share on XThe basic premise of the show is about an NYC teenager who loses her parents, and so she goes to live with her mother’s best friend in Colorado. When there, Jackie must discover how to fit in with this new family of eight boys, and new lifestyle. Of course, her life is infinitely more complicated when she finds herself in a love triangle with two of the older Walter brothers.
Of course, both seasons of My Life with the Walter Boys have been messy as regards Jackie’s love life, and this season is no different. So, as season three is here (and likely begging us to binge it), let’s take a closer look at what went down in the finale of season two!
MY LIFE with the WALTER BOYS SEASON TWO FINALE RECAP
CHEATING
An episode ten event is the big game and the fallout aftermath dynamic between Cole and Dylan (a friend and classmate of Cole’s), the team’s biggest star. Dylan is a character who isn’t allowed to cheat largely thanks to Cole not helping him pass a random drug test and there is anger in the aftermath of the choice Cole makes. Then the friendship (or is it more?) Dylan has with Kylie takes a turn when she tells him he needs to own up to his choices and take responsibility for his choices. The series ends with Dylan making better choices and the idea that maybe Kylie has found someone special in Dylan.
COMPLICATED FAMILY
One of the big things that goes down in this season two finale (and builds throughout the season) is the health of George Walter. The lead in involves family complications that include business. He along with his eldest son Will are going through it as regards their ranch and business decisions. Ultimately, Will arrives to the ranch with an ambulance announcing that something is terribly wrong…
CONFRONTATION and CONFESSIONS
But before we get to that, Jackie and Cole have a serious confrontation outside when Jackie learns he lied to her. The love triangle that has been ongoing and really has been the driving force of the last two seasons is between Jackie, Cole and his brother Alex. Of course, through most of season two, Alex and Jackie (after he lets go of her leaving in season one) begin to date again but this time they keep it to themselves. Naturally Cole finds out so it isn’t just Jackie hurting from the lies.
Cole is hurt because Jackie asked for space suggesting that in time they could see if that season one finale kiss (Jackie ran from this!) could lead to anything. He does and so learning she and Alex are dating makes him angry. In a confessional moment, Cole tells Jackie he loves her. She also tells him she loves him, but being with him makes her lose control, and she cannot have this.
Before a kiss can happen, we hear the words, “you love him?” and see Alex, brokenhearted again by Jackie, standing behind them on the porch.
This is when Will drives up in the ATV with the flashing lights of an ambulance close behind. The emergency? Something has happened to George.
This is where season two leaves us, so that the love triangle isn’t the thing we are most concerned by.
Season three returns today on Netflix. Check back later because there will be first impression thoughts!
MORE RECAP things from My Life with the Walter Boys
- Friendships have some cracks as the lead in to this finale and so the show ends with Jackie and Skyler realizing that Grace, not unlike them, is going through it and just as they need support, she too is in need of her friends.
- Jackie finally passes her driving test and thanks to Katherine, her mom’s car has been shipped out to Colorado and is waiting for Jackie.
- Alex wrestles with sponsorships and continuing to pursue his career as a bronc rider. Part of the dilemma is people trying to convince him he cannot do this and have a healthy relationship. (Honestly, in today’s culture of you can do anything and have everything, this message feels, well, off brand.)
Stream, at publication, seasons one and two now with Netflix; you can also stream season three now exclusively with Netflix.
