‘MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS,’ SEASON TWO IS ONE OF SECOND CHANCES
Back for its season two, Netflix returns with their version of a love triangle with My Life with the Walter Boys.
My Life with the Walter Boys, Season Two (2025) Netflix Review
Returning to Colorado is a little, well, awkward for Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriquez). She ran away, back to Manhattan, for the summer after she became caught up in an unpleasant love triangle. In the aftermath of her parent’s death, she trades skyscrapers for wide open spaces to live with her mother’s best friend (Sarah Rafferty) and her family in Colorado. It’s Katherine who arrives in New York to talk with Jackie and to persuade her to return.
When she lived with the family after her life changed, she began to date Alex Walter (Ashby Genry), a quiet and nice guy who likes Jackie from the start. But then there is also Cole Walter (Noah LaLonde). The popular guy in school who seems to be able to date anyone he wants, Jackie falls under his spell and the two kiss. Now, with Katherine’s words echoing, she’s back and despite the efforts, she isn’t able to make things right with some of the other Walter family. This leaves everyone on shaky ground, and with questions about where they stand. Jackie throws herself into trying to “fix” everything, hoping it helps her fit in…
TV SERIES REVIEW | ‘THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY,’ SEASON THREE IS BEGINNING OF ONE LAST YEAR
‘MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS,’ SEASON TWO IS ONE OF SECOND CHANCES. First impression thoughts on season two of #MyLifewiththeWalterBoys. #Netflix Share on XThis show was relatively well received at the end of season one (obviously because a second was ordered), but I did find the ending, well, quite annoying. I don’t blame the heroine for wanting to remove herself from a situation (though she did participate in creating it), but I do blame her for bad handling. Because of this, I don’t hate (parts of) Alex for the way he reacts to her return. Though I suspect social media will. The entire second series is a binge release.
Season two sets out as being more of the “same” in its ups and downs, good and bad moments between the characters as well as how we feel about the characters. I like that the primary characters and the people who play them return. This includes not just the main trio, but also the return of the rest of the Walter boys and Marc Blucas. Newcomers also appear as does new challenges for these characters.
I’m not “in love” with this show, but it is something easy to binge and as a result I understand why so many watch it. This said, I also find, like most love triangle stories, it hard to really like or root on the characters as I think they all are making questionable and unkind choices. On the pro side, I am loving that season two doesn’t dive into make out sessions in the triangle and instead puts some distance between them all as they settle in. How everything will play out, I don’t know but hopefully by the end, there will be some resolution because honestly, I think this show needs that.

Stream, at publication, My Life with the Walter Boys season two exclusively on Netflix
Content: Seems much the same as the first season (saying having not seen the entire second). The rating is TV-14 for some kisses (and probably innuendo) and if it bothers you, one character likes the same-sex and is in a relationship (a secondary, outside of the main one, love triangle forms with this character too). There is also the thematic elements (loss, grief) and some profanity, too.
