Be Amazed and Have Fun in ‘Amazing Winter Romance’

Though the winter romantic-comedy fun is at its end, you can still relive them through encore showings. In Amazing Winter Romance, we meet Julia (Jessy Schram), a journalist who’s lost her mojo when it comes to creativity. Her boss is determined Julia should find her talented voice again, so she sends the travel writer back to her hometown in the hopes she’s again be inspired.

Once there, Julia enjoys time with her parents, and discovers her best friend Nate (Marshall Williams) is also back, only it’s where he permanently calls home. What she also learns is Nate is working to revitalize their small North Dakota town by cultivating a unique winter destination, and in this, Julia just may find her voice again.

Cute as this one actually is, this one is (yet again…!) another I didn’t anticipate seeing in comparison to some of the others. But with its less familiar (on the network) faces in the cast, along with the “adventurous” script, this one keeps things fun, easy, and in some ways, apart from some of the usual tropes.

Jessy has been in a few Hallmark’s, but some of you may remember her from ABC’s Once Upon a Time whereas Marshall Williams is a new (to me) actor, but one who reminds of Ashton Kutcher. Lots of network fans will also recognize him from When Hope Calls, the new streaming series. No matter what, they’re cute together, which leads me into the tropes.

What I like most about this is how these two know one another. Yes, they share a past, but it’s not that of an “ex” relationship. They were best friends who never shared more than the bond that is friendship. It makes their reconnecting all the more sweet, fun and allows their present relationship to be all the cuter. Plus, can we just talk about how (adorable) swoony the grand gesture is? I mean, it’s too sweet.

If you like the prior ‘Winterfest’ rom-coms, or anything that’s in the clean romance genre, you’ll enjoy Amazing Winter Romance. It’s fun and keeps the viewer engaged, which is all the more reason to settle in for this one.
