Love of the Irish (2025) TV Film Review
Audition after unsuccessful audition is rejection that Fiona (Shenae Grimes-Beech) is too familiar with. Catering jobs keep her in funds, but the career she’s chasing is dancing. Her latest audition is again a failure, which makes her question everything. When she discovers that, years ago, her mother found the birth mother she never knew, Fiona impulsively books them a mother-daughter trip to Ireland where she hopes to reunite her mother with her birth family.
While there, Fiona unexpectedly connects with Ireland and her dancing roots. She also meets Liam (Stephen Hagan), a handsome local who owns a small pub with loyal regulars.

According to trivia for this title, Love of the Irish was filmed in Ireland, which always means that in these adventure type films, we get to see beautiful scenery. Plus the small scenes incorporating Fiona’s love of dance is sweet as well. In addition to all of this (and the beauty of the setting is what I like best), this returns Stephen Hagen to Hallmark, an actor who once played in a royal romance with Lacey Chabert. I’ve liked Shenae in everything she’s played in, and if you are a 90s movie aficionado, then you will recognize Moira Kelley as Kate from The Cutting Edge. So to use a filler word, basically the cast is solid. (Actress turned director, Ali Liebert is also behind the camera here.)
While this isn’t a favorite in the way last year’s Betty’s Bad Luck in Love is (another title that’s about turning bad luck into good), I did still enjoy the first Hallmark rom-com. I think this script does tease the ending nicely in a subtle but understandable way; as a result, it’s easier to buy this conclusion. If you want to escape to a place that’s not just pretty, but also looks a bit warmer with all of those green hillsides, then this is a charming choice.
