A New YA Contemporary Romance: Wednesday Feature, Edition 35
Hello, happy readers! Welcome, and thank you for visiting Finding Wonderland. Since we like books around here, it seems a good day to feature an upcoming 2020 novel, because why not? Who doesn’t love talking upcoming books and ‘Waiting on Wednesday’ community meme. Since it’s been a while, this ‘Waiting on Wednesday: Edition Thirty-Five’ features a novel that is a new-to-me author – and something of an outside-her-comfort-zone genre!

Waiting on Wednesday: Edition Thirty-Five
Going back to my “comfort zone” reads today with a contemporary romance to feature a novel that marks a debut genre for a popular author. This week, we are talking of Marissa Meyer, the popular author of the best-selling Lunar Chronicles.
This one promises all sorts of cute antics and even magical realism! Not sure how I feel about this, but what I do know is this: this may finally be the novel that gets me to read something by Marissa Meyer. What do you think?
INSTANT KARMA
Author: Marissa Meyer | Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Genre: Fiction; Young Adult, Romance, Magical Realism | Publication Date: 2020
Chronic overachiever Prudence Daniels is always quick to cast judgment on the lazy, rude, and arrogant residents of her coastal town. Her dreams of karmic justice are fulfilled when, after a night out with her friends, she wakes up with the sudden ability to cast instant karma on those around her. Pru giddily makes use of the power, punishing everyone from public vandals to karaoke hecklers, but there is one person on whom her powers consistently backfire: Quint Erickson, her slacker of a lab partner and all-around mortal enemy. Soon, Pru begins to uncover truths about Quint, her peers, and even herself that reveal how thin the line is between virtue and vanity, generosity and greed . . . love and hate. – Goodreads

It’s Wednesday which means there’s another fun meme that bloggers enjoy taking part in. Today’s feature is all about the books we’re “Waiting On” with Can’t Wait Wednesday; a meme Finding Wonderland occasionally takes part in. Organized by the lovely Tressa of Wishful Endings, here’s another edition of Can’t Wait Wednesday. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here to spotlight and talk about the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released as well. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. (Find out more here.)

What, a YA contemporary by Marissa Meyer? And it sounds like so much fun? I definitely added this to my TBR right away :)

Oh, this sounds awesome! I love Marissa Meyer’s books, so I’m excited to check this one out. Thanks for sharing! :)
I’m excited too even though I have not yet read anything by her! It still sounds quite good. :)
I love magical realism, and it really seems like Marissa Meyer is dabbling in many different genres – something for everyone!
Indeed. I marvel at the talent an author who can accomplish this has.
I do think it will be interesting to see how she makes the transition into contemporary romance! I have high hopes and I think it will be lots of fun as well. :)
YAY! I haven’t read a novel by her as of yet, but this one sure sounds fun.
Oooh! Marissa Meyer is writing a contemporary romance book? Sounds awesome! Awesome pick!
I think so too. :)
I just saw the reveal for this one! I probably won’t get to it anytime soon, as I’m slowing down on contemporary reads, but it looks cute. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks, Rachelle. I hope to enjoy this one too. :)
