Indie Contemporary Romance Release – Waiting on Wednesday: Edition Forty-Two
Hello, all! Hope you’re all enjoying a great week, and some good reads. We’re keeping up with a few ‘Waiting on Wednesday: Edition Forty-Two’ posts, and today we’re talking an upcoming (but actually not) release by an indie author. Let’s take a look.
LIST | Seven of the Best Kensi and Deeks’ Moments (OTP Favorite!)
Waiting on Wednesday: Edition Forty-Two
If you enjoy small town, “cozy” stories, one of the best authors you could discover is Melissa Tagg. She’s really at the “top” of any list if that’s your cup of story tea.
Her hot-off-the-presses (LITERALLY) new novel is a new release on the 19th (technically my Amazon copy is in the mail, so..) and features, I am sure, more of the same kind of feeling. It’s a companion (pair? sequel?) to her novel Now and Then and Always, which I have sadly not yet read, but hey, with this novel releasing, it’ll just mean back-to-back reading should I choose to do so!
SOME BRIGHT SOMEDAY
Author: Melissa Tagg | Publisher: Independently Published [Larkspur Press]
Genre: Fiction; Contemporary Romance | Publication Date: December 2020
He’s torn between love and honor…
Lucas Danby has always regretted the decisions that caused his dishonorable discharge from the military—and he’s never stopped trying to redeem his honor. He’s spent the past decade taking on dangerous short-term missions as an elite private soldier—the only part of his life that’s ever gone right. But the high-risk work never cures his shame. Now he’s stuck stateside, mentoring a new recruit. Worse, he’s sick of lying to the people he cares about most—including the woman he’s secretly loved for years.
She can’t escape her house of memories…
Jenessa Belville should be happy. She’s the hometown girl everyone loves, after all. But she’s also the last Belville left—and if she had her way, she’d leave the name and all its painful memories behind. Which is exactly what she hopes to do once she sells Belville Park, the massive estate she inherited from her parents. First, though, she needs to restore the property’s once-glorious gardens. But on the same day she puts up the “For Sale” sign, she discovers three children hiding in the caretaker’s cottage, thrusting her into the unexpected role of temporary guardian.
Fighting for their future means healing from the past…
Struggling to mentor a young man with scars nearly as piercing as his own, Lucas offers to help Jenessa restore the Belville grounds. Though drawn together by a trio of kids who tug on their hearts and the sparks they can’t deny, past secrets and current sorrows threaten to pull them apart. Only the brightest love and hardest sacrifice can turn the house Jenessa never wanted into the home she and Lucas have always longed for. – Goodreads

It’s Wednesday which means there’s another fun meme that bloggers enjoy taking part in. Today’s feature is all about the books we’re “Waiting On” with Can’t Wait Wednesday; a meme Finding Wonderland occasionally takes part in. Organized by the lovely Tressa of Wishful Endings, we join another edition of Can’t Wait Wednesday. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme to spotlight and talk about the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released as well. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. (Find out more here.)
PS: please excuse the “disorder.” you can read more about Finding Wonderland’s changes, new follow options and why archive posts are a mess in my “Disorder + Feedback” post!

A recent contemporary book is The Key to Love by Betsy St. Amant. Cute and a nod to the locks of Love Bridge in Paris.
Ooo! I’ve seen that one around, and it does look darling! You’ve reminded me that I need to look it up on Amazon again. :)
