Fall for a Cute Romance in ‘My Best Friend’s Bouquet’

The string of Fall Harvest movies continues, and their next-to-last is this, My Best Friend’s Bouquet.

My Best Friend’s Bouquet (2020) Film Review

A romantic prospect is not something Josie Hughes (Chaley Rose) sees in her future. But when she catches the bouquet, something she believes is a sure signal of impending marriage, at her friend’s wedding, things happen. Suddenly she meets the successful (and handsome!) lawyer, Will (Jamie Callica), which brightens her prospects.

Then, not long afterwards, her best friend, Alex (Nathan Witte) receives a job offer that will require he move away. This prompts Josie to re-examine her heart and Alex to begin writing a letter that might change everything.

Last year, we saw Chaley Rose on the Countdown to Christmas film, A Christmas Duet (she also appeared in the ABC show Nashville). While cute, I confess I didn’t love the film because I didn’t really “feel” a nice camaraderie between the leading characters. Because of this, seeing what I thought of her follow up film with the network is something I take interest in.

While I do like her as an actress fine, I don’t think I’ve seen her with a co-star she “clicks” with. Still if picking between this or ‘Duet,’ this is better. I like the concept – a lot, and enjoy the best friends to possibly more trope. Plus the way these characters share a connection is fun; I love that these characters are a tight-knit group, all through the years, and that they know each other well. It’s nice to see Nathan Witte in another Hallmark role, this time as its leading man.

Anyone who likes previous rom-coms from this network will, like always, be smiling wide by the time everything wraps on My Best Friend’s Bouquet. It’s sweet, charming and has a kind of infectious quality that’s hard to resist. It’s something easy to get caught up in and best of all, something easy to enjoy for ninety minutes.
