Taking an old-fashioned concept (like writing love letters) isn’t always easy to translate to the modern world. However, this UPtv premiere does so with its usual style. Newly moved into her condo, Hayley Hammond (Natalie Hall) discovers a box of letters in a closet along with an engagement ring. Swept up by the love story, she contacts the owner, hoping to return the ring to him. In her professional life, she’s busy trying to secure a grant that would help her non-profit produce and farm organization. Trouble is, what she doesn’t know is that there’s another non-profit vying for this prestigious grant. sincerely yours truly
Josh (Marshall Williams) works hard to perfect his digital project, and until he meets Hayley, he’s sure he’ll gain this grant. Sharing rented office space, the pair strike up a kind of tenuous friendship all while Hayley develops an online friendship with the love letter author. Torn between a decision of trying to have something with Josh, or pursuing this man who’s heart is still broken, Hayley must decide whether to follow her heart or chase what’s real.
LIST | 20+ Titles to Read or Watch to Fill our ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ Void
Going on a repetitive word spree is my jam when it comes to these television romance movies. Sincerely, Yours, Truly is all the same things as any UPtv movies I’ve enjoyed these past two months. Difference between those and this title is the old-fashioned charm it presents. I always did love the love letter trope, and here is no different. It combines the “vintage” act of writing with modern technology when Hayley initiates contact with the letter writer. This trope always makes me feel nostalgic, though why I don’t know.
You’ll see more familiar faces in Natalie Hall and Marshall Williams. Hall is in such titles like Midnight at the Magnolia or You’re Bacon me Crazy (or the oldie but cutie Seven Year Hitch). Marshall is from the Amazing Winter Romance movie, and since that is likely the only one I’ve seen him in, it’s fun to see him in something else. There’s cute banter here, and as usual, the supporting characters (namely Nicki Whitely as the bestie) are always fun. Those of us who love a good and clean romance will find this is a letter you’ll want to open, and enjoy every word.
