‘CAMPFIRE KISS’: THIS ROM-COM MEETS THE GREAT OUTDOORS
It’s been a long time, but once upon a time I did see Campfire Kiss. Another lighthearted and cute little romance, the story follows Dana (Danica McKellar), a mom and teacher, who is trying to keep a well ordered and organized life as she raises her teen son (Dylan Kingwell). One of the ways she decides to help them connect is by taking both of them to a family wilderness camp.
When preparing to leave for the trip, she meets Steve (Paul Greene), a small business owner who also happens to be on the trip. The only thing they seem to have in common is the love they have for their kids. But then, the trip becomes something neither of them anticipate and an experience no one is soon to forget…

Opposites attract (eventually) is the prominent trope theme of this 2017 comedy. It’s a mostly good time and a kind of entertaining flick that is an ideal time for avid fans of Campfire Kiss. Especially because it has a familiar cast that is always an audience draw. Danica McKellar has long been a favorite leading lady in films like this, and Paul Greene too is someone viewers enjoy seeing. This also happens to be the second co-star film for these two. The first was Perfect Match from two years prior.
If a good time is what you’re looking for in a film choice, you’ll find that in Campfire Kiss. There’s the typical mishaps and things gone wrong in the camping setting, which is familiar, yes, but also makes us giggle. Long story short, it’s cute and one of those easy watching titles that isn’t hard to fall for.
