10 MORE OF THE FAVORITE & BEST POPULAR TV FATHERS
It’s that day of the year again, it’s Father’s Day and the one day a year set aside to honor the men who raised us. Though really, they deserve more than a single day for us to appreciate them. Or at least I know many father’s (including mine!) who do. As it is the day for dad’s, let’s do our usual best TV fathers list.
LIST | 12 MORE OF THE BEST MOTHERS ON OUR FAVORITE TV SHOWS
Like anything, I cannot promise no repeats from other lists. However I do always try hard to find new characters to feature and introduce you to. My dad isn’t the biggest TV show person, though he does watch them and there’s a select few he likes. One of them being CBS’ Blue Bloods. While I won’t be including characters from the show on this list (Frank is on last year’s), I did want to mention the show and their patriarch characters because goodness, there’s a lot of family tradition on the show that’s worth appreciation.
To my dad, thank you for being someone who’s always here, who loves me and for being a man I can respect, admire and as a kid, someone I could grow up to be like. You’re the best.
Without further preamble, let’s jump in.
MORE OF THE FAVORITE AND BEST TV FATHERS
1: BEAU from COUNTRY COMFORT
I love this Netflix sitcom, and so I had to include Beau! I’m not sure he’s my most favorite father’s on this list, but I do like him. Just hoping we get a second season for these characters, too. Find the show on Netflix
2: RICKY COOPER from DATE MY DAD
This show didn’t get a long run, but it’s ALL KINDS OF CUTE! Follows a widowed father of three girls, who decide it’s time to find their dad someone to date.
3: WILL COOPER from SINGLE PARENTS
Recently started watching this one, and while it was only on for two seasons, it’s cute. There’s some things I don’t care for (as is true of any show), but mostly, I think it’s cute. Plus, Will is one of my favorite characters just because of how extreme protective he is. But at the same time, through the episodes, he does slowly let go. (Also, Sophie is a DOLL!)
4: JOE LONGO from MELISSA & JOEY
Ok, so at the point I’m at now in this older ABC Family sitcom, Joe isn’t a dad. But it’s pretty cute how protective he is over the kids he “nannies” (using this term loosely since the kids are TEENS!). Took me a while to get into this one, but it’s pretty fun.
5: KEITH MARS from VERONICA MARS
Had this guy on a list I created back in 2014, so I feel good about the repeat add; plus I just love Keith!

Debating (still) whether or not to include this character because his kids give him a LOT of flak on the show. Still… I also don’t think the hate is totally fair. While some of it may be accurate, I think he’s one of those characters that is harped on all the time and doesn’t deserve it all. best tv fathers
7: DANNY TANNER from FULL HOUSE
I’m not sure if I watched Full House or not, but I have seen some episodes of Fuller House. The concept of the show certainly is fun!
8: ERIC TAYLOR from FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
I’ve only watched one… maybe two episodes of this show and I just cannot get back its format. It’s not a “me” show. However, I know many people love the show and so I decided to add him as a kind of “universal” favorite.
9: GEORGE TURNER from 800 WORDS
Like Beau, this is a father grieving a loss and as such, he’s kind of at a loss as to how to parent his two kids. But through the show, they all learn how to cope and hopefully, eventually (haven’t finished this yet either!) how to heal.
10: JOE WEST from THE FLASH
Back when I was watching this show, this is one of the characters I always liked. I never did warm to Iris, but her father, I thought he was a pretty cool character and I like how loving and giving he is, both to his daughter and to Barry, whom he treats like a son.
What about you; have you met any of these dads? Do you like them or dislike them? Which ones did I overlook? Who else should I have added to a best TV fathers list? Comment all of your thoughts down below!
