A LITTLE READER CELEBRATION! WHEN BOOK COVERS KNOW HOW TO PARTY

August is birthday month for this space. On the tenth, it celebrates its TENTH anniversary and as such, I’m going to have a little kind of bookish party for the space. The best way I knew how to do this was to find the book covers that look like a party. Basically, this means anything with confetti.

I’ll be real, I’m not much of a party person. My idea of a good time is a very small group made up of the people that mean the most. Still, seeing as this is TEN years and I love any excuse for giveaway fun (which will be part of the party), I had to have a celebration. I doubt I have that I have THAT many book covers on my shelf that depict some kind of party or party life. But we’re going to challenge the assumption and see what we find. Besides, it’s always more fun this way, right? Either way, we’re ready to have a little bookish party by seeing what books fit our specifications today. Here we go!

BOOK COVERS THAT LOOK LIKE A PARTY

1: TURN IT UP, JEN CALONITA

Haven’t read this one that’s been on my shelf for YEARS. But it is likened to Pitch Perfect, and I cannot ignore that. Goodreads

*Note: this is secular YA fiction

2: 10 BLIND DATES, ASHLEY ELSTON

This book is all kinds of cute! Follows a girl whose nosy family tires to set her up on a series of blind dates. The one drawback is the ambiguous end. Goodreads

*Note: this is secular YA fiction

3: LOVE FROM SCRATCH, KAITLYN HILL

This upcoming YA novel sounds like fun and just look at all of those sugary treads? Goodreads

*Note: this is secular YA fiction

4: HOW IT FEELS TO FLY, KATHRYN HOLMES

The plot of this novel is definitely not a party, but the cover has balloons so, you know, we have to include it.

5: A CHARMED LIFE, JENNY B. JONES

To be honest I’m not sure that I still own this 3-novel bind up anymore. I did though at one time and it may still be in one of my boxes to donate or sell. Goodreads

6: SAVE THE DATE, MORGAN MATSON

This one is one of the more famous covers nearly anyone will recognize. But it’s too cute not to add. With that near disaster depiction and a party (wedding) that the book revolves around, I’m here for the fun. Goodreads

*Note: this is secular YA fiction

7: ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE AND CUPCAKES, BETSY ST. AMANT

I think I owned this book at one time. However if I read it, I cannot remember. But it’s a cute title, right? Goodreads

8: LUCKY IN LOVE, KASIE WEST

I mean, there’s cute balloons as part of the art AND there’s also a big lottery win so the book feels a bit like a party, right? Goodreads

*Note: this is secular YA fiction

  1. Ah, I love all these covers! Love from Scratch is one that I’ve never seen before and it is ADORABLE—I’m gonna have to check it out :) Great list! Happy 10th to this space—that’s an amazing achievement!

    1. I struggle with some to! Sometimes I go ahead and push myself to do it anyway, and other times I go a different direction. Either way, it’s fun to try new creative direction. :) Thanks for being here.

    1. YAY on 2 years! Congrats, Dedra. I’m always amazed I’m still doing this. Not because I don’t still enjoy it and (most days) love it, but because the landscape has changed SO much and where conversation used to be big here, it now dwindles. *shrugs* Guess it’s all about seasons. :) Thanks for the kind words.
