THE FIVE BOYS & LOVES IN THE LIFE OF SABRINA SPELLMAN

October 24, 2021 2 Comments

Sometimes as I try to find things to write about and keep up with some of the more current things, I look for something that’s just fun. This is what we’re going for today. As someone who didn’t grow up watching the “it” shows or movies of my generation, sometimes I eventually go back and watch these. Other times I don’t. Either way, I didn’t suffer in childhood. Recently, I decided to try an episode of the CBS teen comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch. So, with the entire run on Hulu, I sat down to watch maybe an episode, expecting nothing of it, only to binge watch the series in its entirety because well, those 20 minute episodes are kind of like candy, it’s a “just one more” type situation. Today, let’s look at the boys in the life of Sabrina Spellman. Just because we can.

TV ANNIVERSARY | 25 YEARS LATER: CELEBRATE ‘SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH’ WITH A QUIZ!

As it’s the spooky season (or “spoopy” as I’ve been seeing it called), this seems even more apropos to chat about. So, let’s talk about a few of the boys (the more “serious” relationship boys) in the life of Sabrina Spellman. Like I said, just for giggles.

RANKING THE BOYS IN THE LIFE OF SABRINA SPELLMAN

5: DEREK

Barely even worth a mention, this is the witch Sabrina “dated” for two seconds. I’m adding him because for a hot minute I did think he was okay, and maybe had potential. Guess I was wrong!

4: AARON JACOBS

This relationship, despite “outwardly” being the more serious just doesn’t fit. I like Aaron at first (maybe in part because Hallmark actor Dylan O’Neal plays the role), but as time goes on, I didn’t. Thinks just don’t “feel” right between them and while I think Aaron is a nice guy, I don’t think he’s Sabrina’s nice guy. I also think she wants it too badly, and I don’t think that’s ever the recipe for healthy relationships.

3: JOSH BLACKHART

Same as I say for Aaron can be said for Josh, too. I think he and Sabrina “want” something between them, when maybe it’s not the best idea or right. I also don’t think Josh is the best person for Sabrina, and sometimes I don’t love HIM as a character. I feel like Aaron and Josh are actually on pretty equal footing as far as my opinion of them.

2: DASHIELL

I think this character was only in four or so episodes’, so placing him higher than Sabrina’s long term relationships is a little weird. However I thought their crush-on-you sweetness was cute. In the end, I didn’t love how things shake out, but still, they had some cuteness going on.

1: HARVEY KINKLE

The high school sweetheart, I always did have a soft spot for Harvey. I’m guessing I’m more alone than not in my opinion here, but I really like Harvey. I like how well and much he cares for Sabrina, and in spite of their equal relationship mistakes or the back-and-forth, I still love these two. I also love that it’s Harvey who knows Sabrina’s secret, and that they share (through the years) a respect and love for one another. No matter what, I just always like Harvey.
