THE BEST FEEL GOOD MOVIES ON NETFLIX RIGHT NOW
When it comes to movies that make you feel happy, there is one streaming winning at this game right now. When I browse Netflix these days I continually find movies that perhaps do evoke nostalgic feels. Far better than nostalgia thought is that there are some of the best feel-good movies on Netflix, and that’s no joke. While these likely won’t hang around long, making this post probably unnecessary (since this news has an expiration date), we cannot help but share excitement about these. All in the hopes that you’ll enjoy some of these, too.
LIST | THE MAGICAL MOVIES AND TV TO WATCH DURING SPOOKY SEASON
THE BEST FEEL GOOD MOVIES ON NETFLIX RIGHT NOW. How many of these #FeelGoodMovies do you love? #MovieList #Movies #Netflix #MoviesonNetflix Share on XFrom “classic” millennial favorites to family friendly choices and Netflix originals (that deserve a shout-out), there are some great titles to enjoy. We’re going to try to stay with happy movies. Some of these may have some emotional upheaval “during” the story unfolding, however, the end (and before that!) has to be all kinds of happy and upbeat. Are most of these going to have romance themes? Probably yes. Are we ashamed of this? Nope. We’re here to introduce or perhaps re-introduce you to some of these.
Let’s take a closer look at what these are. Then, after you read this list, make sure your next movie night is watching one of these.

Note: Netflix adds and removes titles frequently so while these are all currently available on the streamer, this could change at any time. last updated December 8, 2024
ANYONE but YOU
If you like adult movies and don’t mind scripts going for crude rather than sweet, this might be a fun one to see. It’s the much buzzed about romance with “it” stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. The plot is about two people who share a wonderful night and then after a misunderstanding (which was really, in my opinion, sillier than usual), the pair hate each other and never talk. Only then their sister and bestie end up dating and marrying forcing them to “get along” for the sake of the ones they love.
This title rates R and features profanity including the f-word and other sexual jokes. A couple has sex (we see some undressing and rolling around in the sheets). There is also a same sex couple if that annoys you. The film has nudity too.
THE BOUNTY HUNTER
I have zero idea how well people like this film, but I did think it was funny. It’s one, for me, that I can “unplug” and watch without needing to engage my brain. Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler play exes (she a reporter and he a bounty hunter trying to bring her in) who swap off “custody” of one another in a kind of madcap adventure.
The film rates PG-13 for suggestive/sexual content (relatively mild) and some profanity, plus some “action violence”
CROSSROADS
I’ve never seen this, but I think it’s a kind of cult classic people love. Brittany Spears leads the cast in a best friend road trip kind of story.
The film rates PG-13 (likely for the usual fare which would include profanity and perhaps some teen sexual and/or party content)
COUPLES RETREAT
This film is actually pretty dang entertaining. Not the “greatest” film ever, but it’s cute and actually has some important messaging about staying in a marriage (the one I’m thinking about isn’t unhealthy) and realizing that just because things are different now doesn’t mean there isn’t still great love and respect, and the choice to stay is important.
The film rates PG-13 for sexual jokes/humor and content
ELLA ENCHANTED
Anne Hathaway stars in this fairy tale film, post her breakout in The Princess Diaries, about a heroine who is forced, by a curse, to obey every command. This becomes even more of a problem when she falls in love with Hugh Dancy’s prince!
The film rates PG
FIRST DAUGHTER
Katie Holmes stars as the titular character, a college student wanting some freedom from the constant scrutiny of her father through secret service details and Michael Keaton features as the president.
The film rates PG for some minor sexual content
GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE
I didn’t love this latest installment in the Paul Rudd/McKenna Grace Ghostbuster movies, but this one still entertains and it’s fun to play catch up with this new generation of ghostbuster characters. Did you know Carrie Coon, from the HBO period drama Gilded Age, also stars?
The film rates PG-13 for some “scary” scenes
HOW DO YOU KNOW
Far from my favorite of Reese Witherspoon’s library of movies, this features Witherspoon and Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd in a comedy about trying to make choices.
The film rates PG-13 for sexual humor
IN GOOD COMPANY
This one goes through some things or rather it puts its characters through a thing or two, but In Good Company is really good. Dennis Quaid plays the veteran exec who is replaced by a younger grad, a man who also happens to be dating Quaid’s daughter. Topher Grace and Scarlett Johansson co-star.
The film rates PG-13 for some profanity and sexual content/humor
IRISH WISH
This Lindsay Lohan title is, if I’m not mistaken, exclusive to Netflix which should mean it’ll stay here for a lengthy time. It’s about a woman who is in love with a man who doesn’t seem to know she exists. When she travels to Ireland to watch him marry her best friend, a wish magically places her as the bride instead.
The film rates TV-PG and is, as I remember, pretty much appropriate. There may be a minor sexual joke and there is a scene when a woman finds a man in a shower, but anything inappropriate is avoided.
JUST go WITH IT
A funny comedy about a man who, for all the wrong reasons, talks his receptionist into playing his ex in order to convince the girl he’s currently trying to, shall we say, court that his trick of wearing a wedding ring to accomplish this is from an ex-wife.
The film rates PG-13 for sexual humor and content; it’s heavily implied a man is having sex with someone, there is profanity, too
LOGAN LUCKY
The first time I watched this was when I recently saw it on Netflix. It’s a kind of heist movie that is actually quite hilarious, albeit one that moves slowly. It follows a down on his luck dad (played by Channing Tatum) who recruits his former vet brother (Adam Driver) and another local to rob a race track take.
The film rates PG-13 some some sexual/crude humor and profanity including a use of the f-word
THE LOST CITY
Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum star in this film about an author and her cover model who are forced on a kind of adventure full of danger. This has a kind of Romancing the Stone vibe, or that’s the impression I get and of course, I adore Sandra Bullock. It’s not my favorite, but is still a good time and was one everyone adored. Note: this one will arrive November 9!
The film rates PG-13 for adventure that leads to danger including explosions and weapons used as threats. There is also some sexual innuendo.
LOVE, GUARANTEED
Another Netflix title, this one features Rachael Leigh Cook (known for her role in She’s All That) as a woman who helps Damon Wayans Jr. sue a dating app.
The film rates a very appropriate TV-PG
MAID in MANHATTAN
Jennifer Lopez plays a co-lead with Ralph Fiennes in this romcom about a working class mother who finds a Cinderella kind of love story with a politician.
The film rates PG-13 for some sexual content including a couple spending the night together (we see some undress and making out) and profanity
MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 2
Perhaps not quite the same charm as the original film, this sequel, which brings back most of the original cast, is still a thoroughly entertaining film about Toula realizing she’s becoming the same mother she once fought so hard to break free from.
The film rates PG-13 for some minor sexual humor and content and some profanity
THE BEST FEEL GOOD MOVIES ON NETFLIX RIGHT NOW. Talking about the best aka most entertaining movies on #Netxli right now! #FeelGoodMovies #GoodMovies #BestMovies Share on XTHE PRINCE and ME
This one is a fairy tale story set in modern times, but it’s charming. If it’d gone with an alternate ending, I don’t know that I’d allow for this, but I think the script manages to give feminists what they’d want while also allowing romantics to thoroughly enjoy the film which follows a college student who, quite unknowingly, falls in love with a transfer student who happens to be a prince.
The film rates PG
SET it UP
Long before Glen Powell was a “thing” or considered “hot” or “sexy” or whatever term is attached to him, I saw Set it Up and thoroughly enjoyed this film. The set up is about two assistants who, in order to gain an actual life, decide to set up their respective aka demanding bosses.
The film rates TV-MA for some mention of sex/humor, and uses of the F-word
SING
This one is for the kids, but it’s also just a darling film about animals who have musical talent and compete to showcase those talents.
The film rates PG
TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE (NETFLIX TRILOGY)
These movies are all so cute. They’re based on the series by Jenny Han and feature plenty of angst and romance and sweetness. They are also, from what I understand, Netflix titles which means ideally they should have a long “shelf” life on the streamer.
These titles rate TV-14 for some teen parties, some profanity and some (mostly) minor sexual content.
WHEN WE FIRST MET
Yes, this is another Netflix specific title (and my intention with this list was to mostly stay away from these), but I don’t really see anyone talk about this one. It’s quite cute and features a kind of repeat story plot about a guy who is in love with a girl who is building a life with someone else. I like it because it ends in the way it should rather than perhaps how tradition dictates and yet it’s still happy and upbeat.
The film rates TV-14 for some sexual content/conversation and profanity
WIN A DATE with TAD HAMILTON
This is an older title (like many of these are), but it’s darling. I forget how much so until I re-watch it. Kate Bosworth stars as a woman who becomes starstruck by a movie star when she wins a one-night date contest with him. Josh Duhamel, Topher Grace and Ginnifer Goodwin also star.
The film rates PG-13 for some sexual humor and two scenes of making out, plus some profanity
