The Internet informed us all last week that the TV show Once Upon a Time aired its pilot on ABC ten years ago this year. Initially I did have all the plans do re-watch the pilot, but time is limited, guys! Still, all of this anniversary fun is why, today, I threw together a little Once Upon a Time ten years later quiz, just for fun! As it has been ten years, I thought I’d chat a bit about it being ten years since this fairytale series made its debut.

If you aren’t familiar with it, the show follows a group of characters living in a storybook small town unaware they really stepped out of a storybook world. The only person who knows the truth, and has the book that proves it, is young Henry. Setting out to find his biological mother, Emma, Henry must convince her to come to their town and save everyone.
The show was one that easily captured me and made me more excited for a new show than I had been in a long time. In fact, season one is clever, engaging and fun. (Plus the romantic in me thinks its sweet that co-stars Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin are now a real-life couple.) Beyond season one, I think I also watched season two, but honestly, cannot remember if I watched much beyond that. I have read about later seasons, and am, honestly, very disappointed in many of the directions the Disney owned network made. Too many (re-told) fairytales miss the point of the genre, and don’t protect what makes them so nostalgic and wonderful. But as I do have fond memories of the first season, I thought I’d take a moment to feature it. Just because.

We loved watching this show, although that last season – yikes!
I never finished it but someday I may. Just depends on if I run through all of the shows I’m interested in and have nothing else to keep the TV watcher part of me entertained. :)
