POP CULTURE NEWS EDITION FIFTY-TWO: THE COUNTRY SAGA CONTINUES + MORE

Friday rolls around and we also roll out another installment of stories from the week. Mostly the fun ones that make headlines in the entertainment or pop culture genre. Each week it’s a question mark of whether or not they’ll be good stories worth writing about so we’re ready to jump into that again. pop culture news edition fifty-two

Like ANY week (and I’m a broken record, but I promise I don’t copy and paste), there’s TV news and maybe a few other stories to find. So it’s that time to go scrolling and see if I can uncover any actual stories (about celebs) vs just something new coming to a favorite TV show. Let’s dive in.

POP CULTURE NEWS EDITION FIFTY-TWO

A round up collection of stories for the week; going through a round-up fashion again since there was no “big” story to expand on

Lori Loughlin will star in GAC’s upcoming 2023 romance Fall Into Winter. The CEO of GAC in an interview with Variety says, in part, that she is “America’s sweetheart, regardless of whatever happened. At the end of the day, she represents all that is positive about entertainment, and has had a stellar career…” The film will be part of the winter programming event on the network.

Speaking of TV movies, Hallmark put out their schedule of Christmas movies. We’ll be spotlighting part one next week (and we want ya’ to come back to see!), but until then, there’s LOTS of familiar faces in this schedule; including a face or two who hasn’t been in a Christmas movie for a while.

A news story, that I did find interesting, broke this week, is Maren Morris may not attend the CMT Awards after her “feud” (their word, not mine) with Brittany Aldean. I’m not convinced she won’t go since her album is nominated. But if she doesn’t, that’s telling. You joined in the “feud” by rebutting a comment Aldean made and now you want sympathy? Nope. Let’s not. Own your opinion and if you’re in the right, then you should get nothing but support attending.

The FBI episode pulled last May in light of the headline news will now air early season five. The episode is titled ‘Prodigal Son’ and will be about the team trying to find a cache of weapons and learning that one of the suspects is a classmate of Jubal’s son.

If you watch New Amsterdam, there’s a “breakup letter” from Helen for Max and a “possible new romantic connection” for him, too! All in one full swoop. The breakup comes after cast member Freema Agyeman isn’t signing for its fifth and final season. Seems sad that the actor couldn’t return for one season. I don’t watch the show, but do know how disappointing it is for fans to be “cheated” out of a happy conclusion after seeing someone find love.

If you love The Terminal List, when asked about more possible episodes from Prime, series star Chris Pratt responded with “you have nothing to worry about.” The show has no Amazon renewal yet, but Pratt and the series author, Jack Carr, have confidence. I haven’t seen it yet, and am wondering, should I?

Joining Shaun Sipos in season two with titular star Alan Ritchson, Reacher ups its cast for its new storyline. Joining will be Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley and Rory Cochrane as regulars. Then guest star roles will be Domenick Lombardozzi, Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, Josh Blacker, and Al Sapienza.

Bratt Pitt said he and Sandra Bullock were wanting to develop a romantic comedy they would star in. He is quoted as saying that they would “develop a whole idea of a husband and wife team, who were QVC’s most successful salespeople, but we’re getting a divorce, we hate each other, and we’re taking it out on air as we sell things…” What do you think, would this have been a fun concept?

Hallmark fans will like knowing Allison Sweeney has signed a “multi” picture deal with the network. Kicking off her deal will be a Christmas film set to air this year.

Taylor Swift is letting “fate” decide which tracks she announces off her upcoming ‘Midnights’ album. She is playing “Midnight Mayhem” in a Tiktok series. The first two tracks she’s revealed are 13 and 8 which are, respectively, ‘Mastermind’ and ‘Vigilante Sh*t.’ Is it just me or are we not loving these titles so far? Also, what do we think of this era’s 70s vibes?

Your turn; which stories did you see from the week? Did any of these catch your eye? Would you have watching the Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock comedy? Do you think they should still develop that one? Do you watch any of the shows we mention today? If so, which are worth the time? Comment all the comments. Let’s chat!
