POP CULTURE NEWS 160: HAPPY ENDINGS IN A NETFLIX TEASER. Sharing the stories from the past week including #NCISOrigins debut, a #PrinceCharming movie (??) and more! Share on X

Most weeks all we really find are stories of the TV show or film production varieties. But still sometimes there’s the odd story we read about that piques interest. Let’s start research and see what we find.

If you love fairy tales, new reports (this was a rumor a few years ago too) say that Disney is developing a film centering on Prince Charming, whose origins are in Cinderella. (Linking to Cinderella in this film isn’t necessarily going to be how this plays out.) The reports also say that Paul King will direct, a name most recently known for bringing to life the live action Paddington films.

All of the networks are announcing their full Christmas movie lineups which means they are appearing everywhere. As a result of this, it’s quite unnecessary for us to share them but we are this year and we already have the Lifetime Christmas movie schedule posted up. There’s more on the calendar, too.

If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift, this past week she announced she’ll release not just an Eras Tour book containing things like “exclusive” photos of the tour and behind the scenes, but ‘The Anthology’ CD and Vinyl editions of The Tortured Poets Department. This edition of the album will include all 31 tracks (presumably from all of the various variants of TTPD) and four acoustic songs. These will be released in time for Christmas and will be available at Target.

Many of the “big” fall shows made their return this week including the popular ones from CBS. Shows like NCIS and Tracker returned for their twenty-second and second seasons respectively. Then Blue Bloods also began its eight episode swan song (how sad are we that this one is ending?). Also debuting and expanding the NCIS universe is NCIS: Origins the prequel series that tells the story he “doesn’t tell” of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a character made famous for well over ten years on NCIS by Mark Harmon. Did you see the show? If so, what did you think? We, of course, had to share thoughts!

If you’re a fan of Virgin River (which I watched three seasons of and then forgot to come back to!), Netflix dropped a teaser trailer for their upcoming winter drop of season six. Will you be watching the season teased as the wedding year?

Speaking of Christmas movies, and as a final kind of ps note, Hallmark will also begins its 2024 Countdown to Christmas tonight. Will you be watching… and should we review the films again this year?

Now we want to hear from you. Which stories did you see this past week? Did any seem interesting to you? Which ones did we skip? Comment your thoughts below.

Thank you for visiting; please come back again soon
