There’s an election Tuesday? This a question said no one ever in this current climate. Needless to say, no one needs a reminder of this, but still, while planning publishing content, I thought why not find some mostly comedy movies about elections and voting. Naturally that’s what I did.
LIST | SEVEN TV CHARACTERS I DON’T KNOW IF I SHOULD LIKE EVEN THOUGH I DO
☑️SEVEN COMEDY MOVIES ABOUT ELECTIONS AND VOTING🗳️☑️TALKING #ELECTION MOVIES THAT ARE (MOSTLY) COMEDIES. WHICH HAVE YOU SEEN? #ROBINWILLIAMS #LAURALINNEY #MOVIES #MOVIELIST Click To TweetSometimes I want to write something specific about something that, while it maybe wasn’t, is now political but then I can never find the right words or way to share my honest opinion. So in place of that, we’ll look at some funny movies to watch if you want something that’s funny but tends more political-lite. Or that’s mostly our rule to follow. We’ll see how this turns out.
COMEDY MOVIES ABOUT ELECTIONS AND VOTING
THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT
A president falls for an activist in this much-loved dramedy that has thousands of positive ratings. But it’s one I’ve never seen. Have you – and if so, should I watch it?
DAVE
If you guessed I haven’t seen this, you’re correct. The premise is about a man who must step into the role of the president for a few days as his lookalike.
DICK
When it was on Hulu, I started watching this comedy featuring a young Kristen Dunst. I haven’t finished the entire film, but it’s funny-ish. Follows Dunst and her friend who fall into meeting the president.
GUARDING TESS
I have never seen this one, but I doubt it has the same vibe as the others on this list. Still, I’m including it because it sounds like it could be cute about a secret service agent assigned to protect a former first lady.
MAN OF THE YEAR
The beloved comedian Robin Williams stars as a comedian who decides, after an audience member question, to run for president. Like Dick, I didn’t complete the film because it really didn’t “hook” me (partially because I’m not avid fan of the cast) but it is a comedy (or what I’ve seen was) and has a fun premise.
MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
This one isn’t a comedy but is famous and follows Jimmy Stewart’s character as he heads to Washington to try and successfully argue his case.
SWING VOTE
Saw this one years ago and cannot remember details, but I think it’s pretty cute. Follows a man who discovers that the fate of an election rests with his vote.
Have you seen any of these? Would you? Do you like political movies that are funny? Which ones would you put on this list? Comment all the comments! Let’s chat.
