TOP TWELVE RECENT (SORT OF) COVER REVEALS WE’RE LOVING!

On weeks when there’s no set topic for the books we should feature on this, our weekly book list, I tend to have a moment of what to post? Sometimes I figure it’s best to skip, other times I “force” myself to think of something, and sometimes I assume I’ll skip only to then think of something and have to franticly put said list together. This week is kind of combination of everything since I thought I remembered started a post for the upcoming week such as this, and sure enough I did. So with all of this said, let’s see what recent book cover reveals have been the internet rounds.

When it comes to design and pretty cover art, I am, admittedly easy to draw in. I love pretty designs and art, or even a good title. I’ve also learned through the years not to buy books solely for the cover art. Sometimes that works out fine and the story is entertaining and other times it’s a disaster. However, today’s list, while also featuring pretty and recent(ish) cover reveals, are also books that I think may contain solid stories. But I will also say, I’m not seeing quite as many awesome or eye-catching designs as I once did. Whether that’s because the designs aren’t quite as cool or I’m just leaning more and more into my limiting what I buy and red mindset, I cannot say. So, all this to say, let’s dive right in and look at some of these book covers!

TWELVE RECENT BOOK COVER REVEALS

LOYALLY, LUKE (MAY 2024) and POSITIVELY, PENELOPE (AUGUST), PEPPER BASHAM

Super cute and typically perfect for the romance genre that I am sure these novels into. It’s been years since I read anything by Pepper, though she’s very well liked and loved in bookstagram circles. Plus, I think the book I read by her was self pubbed, so it’d be curious to read something traditionally published and see what that’s like, too! Also who doesn’t love the royal trope now and then? ‘Luke’ Goodreads • ‘Penelope’ Goodreads

A LADY’S GUIDE TO MARVELS AND MISADVENTURE, ANGELA BELL (FEBRUARY 2024)

I don’t really know much about this one. I think the cover is genre (Christian market) unique and does kind of remind me of Sophie Irwin’s recent novels. I like the colors and little details and reading the synopsis does make me curious so I guess that earns this one a place. Goodreads

THE ROADS WE FOLLOW, NICOLE DEESE (APRIL 2024)

Very similar to her prior novel, this is book two in her series so the design is very one point and complimentary for the series. Also, WHEN am I going to read more by Nicole?

EVERY TIME YOU GO AWAY, ABIGAIL JOHNSON (DECEMBER)

I haven’t read anything by Abigail, but have read good things about her novels and do own Every Other Weekend, which sounds interesting. This one too sounds like it could be a good read albeit one quite different than the norm of young adult fiction. What I like so much about this one is the kind of three-dimensional look of the design. Goodreads

LOVE IN TANDEM, BECCA KINZER (APRIL 2024)

I mean… this one is just SO dang cute. I haven’t read Becca’s first novel, but the colors of this one are just chef’s kiss. Plus, I do think the “look” of the color is pretty cute too. Goodreads

THE GETAWAY LIST, EMMA LORD (JANUARY 2024)

I mean… that yellow is just too fun, right? I have only read one novel by Emma, but did think it was cute and fun, so I should give another of hers a chance. Have you read many of hers? Goodreads

HEIDI LUCY LOSES HER MIND, GRACIE RUTH MITCHELL (OCTOBER)

I really like the colors on this one, and while not normally a fan of the border design, I do think it somehow works here (maybe because of the colors?). I’m also really curious about this series which I’ve seen good things about on Instagram. Goodreads

ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE AND CHRISTMAS, SARAH MONZON (OCTOBER)

I mean we all love a fun Christmas novel, right? This one sounds like it’ll be as darling inside as it is o the outside.

ONE WRONG MOVE, DANI PETTREY (FEBRUARY 2024)

Like her prior series, this is very similar without the water elements. However what I like is it’s a different direction for the Christian market and I think that makes the cover stand out. Plus, I thoroughly enjoy Dani’s novels so this makes me excited! Goodreads

BRYNN AND SEBASTIAN HATE EACH OTHER, BETHANY TURNER (OCTOBER)

Though it’s the drawn style that is so popular now for designs, I really like this one. It looks more like a painting somehow, and I think when you read the synopsis or even the title, you get the sense that this is an ideal cover design for this novel. Goodreads

UNSINKABLE, JENNI L. WALSH (JANUARY 2024)

I’m not sure this is one I’d read because, as the title suggests, it’s about the Titanic and that is such a sad story. I’ve read a book I did enjoy and seen a British series I thought was good, so who knows. Maybe I’ll give this a chance. I love the silhouette look of this, the colors and that there’s a pretty design while the title treatment is different, too. Goodreads

BONUS! ONCE PERSUASED, TWICE SHY, MELODIE EDWARDS (FEBRUARY 2024)

Totally forgot I just saw this one on Instagram a few days ago. I don’t know anything about this author, but do know her re-telling of Jane Eyre has been getting some good reader buzz, and I’m always curious about a re-telling… so tell me, is Melodie’s re-telling style worth discovery?? Goodreads

Ok, your turn! What are you featuring on that weekly book list? Any books here you’re excited about? Which covers have you seen recently that are pretty? Which ones are you waiting for? What type of cover makes you most curious to read a book? Let’s talk.

  2. I hadn’t seen any of these covers at all when they were revealed (though that’s not too much of a surprise, they all seem very out of my usual genres) but you have some very pretty ones here! The Titanic one sounds like it might be interesting.

    1. I read one novel about the Titanic and did, much to my surprise, like it. So perhaps I’d like this one too! Hope you enjoy if you read this one. :)
