There’s always a slew of films having some important anniversary. Whether we realize it or not, several celebrate every year. We’re late throwing some confetti for this, our latest, movie anniversary feature. Still since it was such a big film (in terms of box office and that it was a “risk”) in my younger years, and probably for many of you, we still have to celebrate. This brings us to our topic which is celebrating with a 20 year Pirates of the Caribbean quiz.

The official birthday party (aka the U.S. release) of this film was July 9. Still, this film was a big deal, and I just could not let it pass without a little celebratory post. The film, if you don’t know, is from Disney, and was in early stages in the early 90s. The studio, producers and powers that be, thought the film would flop and was a risk given how underwhelming prior pirate films from the 70s to the 90s like Cutthroat Island were. The plot follows Johnny Depp’s rogue but likable pirate Jack Sparrow and the boy who would die for the governor’s daughter, Elizabeth Swann. Toss in Jack’s archnemesis Captain Barbossa, and you have a recipe for a classic pirate swashbuckler that is all kinds of fun.
Let’s celebrate that fun adventure today with our 20 year Pirates of the Caribbean quiz. Just because it seems like a fun time to do so.
