‘3 BED, 2 BATH, 1 GHOST’: AN UNUSUAL HALLMARK PREMISE
Going ghostly is unusual for most TV films. There is no in-between from fall (which starts in August) to Christmas. The holidays in-between don’t count. So seeing this title pop up did make me pause and wonder, will this be a Halloween-esque movie?
3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost (2023) Hallmark TV Film Review
Taking on a new listing, a house with character, is an exciting thing for estate agent Anna (Julia Gonzalo). What Anna doesn’t expect is for a literal character to be living in her house. Ruby (Madeline Arthur) is a woman from the 1920s still living in the house. It would seem, much to Anna’s dismay and surprise, that Ruby is here for a reason still, and perhaps she has some unfinished business.
This all brings Anna back to her ex, Elliot (Chris McNally). An encounter perhaps neither one of them are ready to face.

‘3 BED, 2 BATH, 1 GHOST’: AN UNUSUAL HALLMARK PREMISE. Chris McNally and Julia Gonzalo co-star in 2023 Hallmark. #Hearties #WCTH #WhenCallstheHeart #ChrisMcNally #Hallmark #Hallmarkies #Ghost #Halloween Share on XThough they have in the past, and certainly did lean into this with Good Witch, Hallmark doesn’t typically go for ghost stories. They go from cute autumn movies (September) straight into the debut of Christmas in October. Given the holiday’s popularity, I’m always curious as to why the network doesn’t delay Christmas (not a bad thing) in favor of some ghostly stories. Perhaps it’s because the network doesn’t have an audience for the season? I don’t know. Whatever the case, even as someone who doesn’t make a thing about Halloween, I was curious about this one.
Turns out, based on the rating numbers I saw, I wasn’t the only who was curious about this one. From what I can see, it had some of the highest numbers since the Wedding Veil movies in January. And the film is cute too. This includes things like the friendship between Anna and Ruby. Ruby has moxie and is a fun character for the network. I always say Hallmark should do more films set back in time and this is another good example. And movie trivia tells us that Julie and Chris are a real-life couple so there’s that angle, too.
All in all, 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost is a fun movie. It’s different than most the network produces, which is, in my opinion, why it stands apart. Plus it’s the perfect snuggle in movie for this time of year.

Content: Nothing to note outside of the “ghost” element. If you didn’t like Good Witch, you may not like this. There aren’t “spells” or anything of the sort, but it is a film with some element of supernatural just because of the presence of a ghost. The film is TV-G.
