Another title in the National Park TV romance movie “series,” this is, I think, the most interesting of the bunch. love in the great smoky mountains

Love in the Great Smoky Mountains (2023) Hallmark TV Film Review

Done with her degrees, she’s ready to write papers and earn a research grant, all of which starts at a dig in the Smoky Mountains. Though only a trio of films fit in this National Park trio, there’s four films featuring a park. I’ve recently seen them all and this is my favorite of the group. Even at that, I do have my nitpick issues like the whole theme the film centers on or the heroine’s “victim” card sentiments. On top of this, I do think Haley is unfair in wanting the only claim to a broken heart as the result of her prior relationship with Rob. But then, this also falls in line with cinematic scripts. love in the great smoky mountains

What I will say is that despite my complaints I still enjoy Haley. I think this is partly because Arielle plays her, an actress I’ve always liked on Hallmark. Then there is Zach. An actor I’ve seen in very little (maybe one film), but really did like in this role. He and Arielle are good together and I appreciate the kind of back and forth of their relationship.

The opening credits are lovely and I appreciate that there is a whole opening sequence in this which is nice because it allows nature to show off more. Of course, there’s also plenty of other stunning shots. Whether it’s the hikes or the backdrops, there’s gorgeous nature. In the end, there is plenty to admire about the film. It’s a good watch and it helps that there’s beauty to see, too.

Content: Outside of the usual kisses and sweet romantics, this one is the usual old-fashioned TV-G rating.
