Telling the stories of a quartet of friends, The Love Club: Sydney’s Journey is a story about a woman trying to decide her future.
The Love Club: Sydney’s Journey (2023) Hallmark TV Film Review
A decade ago, on New Year’s Eve, Sydney (Lily Gao) was dumped (again) by the man she thought she’d marry. This shatters her but introduces her to the three women who are now her closest confidantes. But then these many years later, she again runs into her ex, and is feeling a pull towards rekindling their romance. This forces her to call in the Love Club, her best friends, Lauren (Chantel Riley); Nicole (Brittany Bristow); and Tara (Camille Stopps).
Hoping to prove to Byron that they’re still a great match, Sydney decides to run a marathon only to meet Theo (Jesse Hutch), a harried restaurant owner who may also need a little change in his life.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘PAGING MR. DARCY’ IS A PLAYFUL START TO HALLMARK AND AUSTEN COLLABORATION
‘THE LOVE CLUB: SYDNEY’S JOURNEY’: THE OLD VS. NEW LOVE TROPE. Review of the 2023 #Hallmark film, #TheLoveClub: Sydney's Journey, the second of a quartet friendship movies. #Movies #Hallmarkies Share on XLike the first in this collection, ‘Nicole’s Pen Pal,’ this is another cute movie. It has some of the same pitfalls as its first, but is overall, a fun time. An original film that, from what I can tell, is primarily for Hallmark’s middling streaming service Hallmark Movies Now. It cross aired on their network, which I’m sure is where it picked up most of its interest.
This feels more like a story of friendship than a cute romance like some on the network. The romance story is more prevalent and seems warmer and more sincere, plus I really like Sydney’s career. She builds a successful social media presence and blog business which is a cool thing and something I can, on a very small scale understand. The element of food is fun, too and unlike the first in this series, I did really enjoy Sydney and Theo’s scenes together.
Those who like this network or just appreciate some good friendship storytelling will like this. It’s cute and cheerful, and is definitely one for the girls.
You can stream The Love Club: Sydney’s Journey digitally on through Hallmark Movies Now; plus Fubo TV, at publication

Content: nothing outside of the normal rating. There’s kissing and conversation about going back with an ex. The Love Club: Sydney’s Journey rates TV-G.
