‘PAGING MR. DARCY’ IS A PLAYFUL START TO HALLMARK AND AUSTEN COLLABORATION
The first of the Loveuary x Jane Austen Hallmark collaboration. Paging Mr. Darcy gets things off to a cute start. paging mr darcy
Paging Mr. Darcy (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
She may be a scholar and as such quite intimate with the works of Jane Austen, but Eloise (Mallory Jansen) is not a believer in Austen’s stories as love letters. Instead, she’s quite cynical of love. Serious about her work and life in general, Eloise keeps a focused mind as her companion which she hopes helps her in advancing her career.
When she attends an annual Jane Austen event, complete with the part of Austen characters in costumes roaming the halls, Eloise makes a deal with Sam Lee (Will Kemp). The result of which may alter her view of Jane’s novels. paging mr darcy
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘WELCOME TO VALENTINE’: A HALLMARK WITH A FEUDING WOULD-BE COUPLE
‘PAGING MR. DARCY’ IS A PLAYFUL START TO HALLMARK AND AUSTEN COLLABORATION. #MalloryJansen and #WillKemp co-star in #Hallmark romance. #JaneAusten #Loveurary #LoveuaryxJaneAusten #Romance #RomanceMovies #PagingMrDarcy Share on XUnusual to things Hallmark typically airs, nearly all of February will pay homage to Jane Austen and her stories, all cumulating in a Sense and Sensibility remake. Paging Mr. Darcy, like the other two titles, isn’t a re-telling but has a kind of Austenland element.
For the majority of this, I do enjoy this one. It’s not as cute as my recent favorite nor does it “feel” unique, but the story is still fun. Plus, I quite like the banter between Jansen and Kemp. They have a nice conversational banter even with the arguing they engage in. Immersed in Jane Austen is what helps challenge Eloise’s idea of what having some fun can look like, and I love that her stories provide this kind of inspiration for this type of production. paging mr darcy
In the end, Paging Mr. Darcy is pure joy. I like the kind of contrasts between how it starts and eventually how it all comes to its ending. There are nods to the source here and there, including allowing Sam to truly step into Darcy’s shoes, while also forging a path to introduce us to its own characters. Definitely one to recommend and enjoy.

Content: nothing much to note beyond the kisses any Hallmark features in TV-G. There is a minor innuendo such as a comment about skipping the wedding to get to the good part. And someone says they want to do something non period authentic (aka a kiss). paging mr darcy
