REVIEW: Part of the Lady Janies series, My Lady Jane is, for lack of a better word, fun. It’s not dynamic or something I’ll reread, but I did, with exception to one of the primary plot lines, enjoy the novel. It’s funny and despite the lengthy text (the novel reads a bit long), the story moves rapidly and has narration that’s quite entertaining. my lady jane book review

While I like the characters and the three first person narratives, I don’t love the magical affliction G suffers from. I know it’s a big part of the story and silly to even be annoyed by it since this isn’t a spoiler (it’s in the synopsis). Regardless, I like how he and Jane form a bond. It’s well written and surprising though it is, I like that the trio of authors do marry the characters off. With so much of the story different than the actual historical events, it’s nice to see some consistency to the fictional events.

If you like funny stories or young adult historical novels, then My Lady Jane is a fun read. It’s ideal for those who like sassy heroines and a noble hero.

Content: there’s sexual innuendo. The ending is about “consummation” in a marriage. It’s minor and not graphic; there’s hints and innuendo leading up to that to. People end up naked more than once because of their curse and inside the head of someone, we are privy to their appreciative thoughts. The book would rate PG-13.
