‘JUNEBUG’ IS CUTE SUMMERTIME ROMANCE ABOUT IMAGINATION
Bringing back a familiar network face we haven’t seen in a long time, Junebug revisits the nostalgia and warmth of childhood.
Junebug (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
Working hard is what Juniper Jones (Autumn Reeser) does best. It comes at the expense of the creative dreams of her childhood including the one dream of finding her Knight. One of the best editors her small press has, Juniper is tasked with extra work because of the small work force, one job includes bringing onboard new illustrators.
By happenstance, she meets Alex Whitley (Aaron O’Connell). A talented muralist, Alex is private about his work. But when Juniper’s persistence and renewal of childhood innocence, with the help of her eight-year-old self (Mila Jones), inspires Alex, the pair inspire one another.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘ALOHA HEART’: STRANGERS MEET WHILE PLANNING WEDDING
‘JUNEBUG’ IS CUTE SUMMERTIME ROMANCE ABOUT IMAGINATION. #AutumnReeser returns to #Hallmark in #Summer romance. #Hallmarkies Share on XFor Hallmark, this is a unique concept. I’ve seen this trope before, but I’m not sure an original title has used the concept in the past. Although the story of Junebug is different, the kind of vibe of the script reminds me of the nostalgic classic 13 Going on 30. It’s a tale about rediscovering what once made creativity come alive or what makes us feel creative and inspired. All of which is likely something we all forget at times, or perhaps have forgotten all together.
Not a new favorite (it’s rare any are, I know), this is still a production that has plenty of cute. If you, like me, want to continue watching summer-ish titles versus the next batch of seasonal films about to invade our screens.
Stream, at publication, Junebug with Peacock

Content: Nothing much to note. The film Junebug is the usual TV-G fare. There’s a kiss or two, but nothing much else.
This is a new favorite for me!. I loved the whimsy and my mom and I are big fans of Autumn Reeser anyway. I enjoyed June’s journey, watching her grow in strength and find her voice. It was nice to see her strong friendship with her life long friend Katy. I’ll be watching this one again.
I need to watch it again sometime too. I probably didn’t give it the time it deserved this go round. I kind of forgot it was on my review schedule so I was working on some things while watching it, too. ;) I did enjoy the concept and I think the scene when she meets her younger self is hilarious! I like Autumn too. She’s been in some really good movies from Hallmark. :)
