Coming this autumn is the adaptation, which Netflix has, of Uglies. The film will feature Joey King as a character who “wants to be beautiful.” They also dropped the trailer this week.
Speaking of adaptations, the Blake Lively led drama of the Colleen Hoover novel It Ends with Us (which received much flack during filming) is in theaters now.
MOVIE ANNIVERSARY | ‘THE WIZARD OF OZ’ TURNS 85!
After controversial comments on a conflict overseas, Jenna Ortega opened up to Vanity Fair about the comments and the industry she works in being “touchy-feely” and that everything must be “politically correct.” She shares things I don’t agree with, and even further down the line, she talks about “world peace,” which I don’t think is realistically a possibility, but one thing she does say, which I agree with is “I wish that we had a better sense of conversation.” I wish this too. I also think, in part, social media has been a destroyer of this.
If you like The Rookie and Tru Valentino’s character Aaron Thorsen, he won’t be back for the show’s upcoming seventh season. He played the character for two seasons (five and six) as a regular and made his debut as a recurring in season four.
The Olympics again made all the headlines. From more gold medal wins to the usual “historic” win athletes, they were again the driving force of what I saw. Collectively, they are returning with over 100 medals, 30 of which are golden.
