MORE OF THE THANKSGIVING MOVIES SURE TO MAKE YOU SMILE
The holiday season is in full swing and with it, the arrival of all the Christmas movies, too. Like last year and similar to our list of Thanksgiving TV episode lists, we are sharing a collection of movies that have Thanksgiving themes. Of course, most of these also take place beyond the holiday, but they do have an element or a scene revolving around Thanksgiving. So let’s jump in and see how many or which funny Thanksgiving movies you can enjoy after all that yummy food as you slice a piece of pie.

Regardless of these exclusions, hopefully there is something on this list or our prior list with a title that sounds like a fun watch.
FUNNY THANKSGIVING MOVIES to WATCH
A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING
For the kids, maybe, but I suspect if you grew up enjoying this, even adults like to watch this once in a while. It’s likely all the nostalgic feels. For me though, I don’t remember if I’ve ever seen this special. That probably belongs to the Christmas special.
The plot revolves around Snoopy and Charlie Brown, along with the gang, preparing to celebrate (as they only can) Thanksgiving with Snoopy ready to play chef!

DUTCH
Ed O’Neill plays a working man dating the ex of a wealthy businessman. When he volunteers to drive her son home from his prep school for the Thanksgiving holiday, he finds that his plans of bonding don’t go to plan.

A FAMILY THANKSGIVING
In a plot we’ve probably all seen in some form or another, this one is about a busy lawyer who is granted the chance to see what an alternative life would have looked like. funny thanksgiving movies

FUNNY THING ABOUT LOVE
This is a lower budget film about a successful businesswoman who returns home for Thanksgiving to a crazy family. When her boyfriend meeting her family doesn’t go as well as she plans, Samantha must navigate a holiday she expects to be a happy one. After watching 20 to thirty minutes of this one, I discovered that the production of this one isn’t quite up to par, but if you don’t mind that, this may be something you can enjoy.

HOLIDAY ENGAGEMENT
Bonnie Somerville stars in this film about a faux engagement which she keeps in play over a long Thanksgiving weekend with family. Jordan Bridges (from Rizzoli and Isles) co-stars. If I remember rightly, this one is also one that fits nicely with the funny title we’re going for!

HANNAH and her SISTERS
This is considered a kind of classic based on what I see, but the R-rated drama isn’t one I’ve seen. From what I gather, it’s a bittersweet film. It’s also a Woody Allen film (I have yet to see anything of his I love), about two sisters and the many awkward trials of their personal lives.

MIRACLE ON 34th STREET (1947)
I love the 90s version of this film, but I have seen the 1940s one with Maureen O’Hara. I think what most puts me off this one is it feels really slow-moving where the newer movie moves things along at a nice clip. Regardless, one cannot deny that this is a charming film that deserves to be a classic.
The story is more Christmas than Thanksgiving perhaps, but it starts at Thanksgiving and tells the story of a man trying to prove that Santa Claus does exist. Natalie Wood also co-stars.

THE THANKSGIVING HOUSE
This is a Hallmark film that aired years ago. It was one I also intended to see, but didn’t see the year it made its debut and now it’s difficult to find. Mostly now I want to see it because its leading man is Justin Bruening, who is now in Sweet Magnolias.
The plot follows a woman who inherits a home from her aunt only to discover it holds significant secrets. If I had to guess I’d say this one wasn’t well loved so maybe that’s why Hallmark doesn’t reair it. funny thanksgiving movies

A TIME to REMEMBER
Doris Roberts plays a woman who is suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dana Delaney the daughter who returns to try and reconcile.

TOWER HEIST
This is a comedy and fits nicely with the ‘funny Thanksgiving movies’ title. It has Ben Stiller playing a man who plans a heist with a band of misfits at the upper class apartment building where he once worked. The story, if I remember right, takes place over Thanksgiving.

YOU’VE GOT MAIL
This is a classic in its genre and travels through a few seasons, but autumn and Thanksgiving do play a role and helps make the film feel cozy. It’s about Meg Ryan’s small book store owner and Tom Hanks’ corporate company man who is opening a new story across the street.
This is one of those classic loathe to more romance stories that many still consider a favorite. It’s also one of three (I think) pairings between Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
