ANTICIPATED BOOKS OF 2025: A JANUARY – JUNE LIST OF BOOKS I HOPE TO ENJOY
The New Year has been rung in and as we’re a handful of days (!) already into this year, it’s an annual tradition to look at the anticipated books of 2025 that we cannot wait to add to your bookshelves!

ANTICIPATED BOOKS OF 2025: A JANUARY – JUNE LIST OF BOOKS I HOPE TO ENJOY. Features @authordpettrey, @sarahsundin, @beckywadewriter + more! Share on XI haven’t really made much of an effort to look into the books I actually want to read in this coming year or to be more accurate the books I’m anticipating (right now the two things are sadly not the same thing). So creating this list will reveal a surprise or two since I’m going to discover what books I’m excited about! Let’s find out what these novels are together.
ANTICIPATED BOOKS of 2025
THE LOVE HATERS, KATHERINE CENTER (may)
This is the second of Katherine’s novels that has a kind of outward “rebrand.” This and her novel from 2024, The Rom-Commers look different than her prior releases. Now I just have to read the books to discover if the inside is any different. This one follows a Coast Guard rescue swimming and a producer on the verge of a ruined career. Goodreads
AFTER LIFE, GAYLE FOREMAN (january)
I didn’t realize Gayle Foreman had new book arriving in stores until I saw someone share this one on another TTT list. While I’m not sure this will be a me read, I did read If I Stay by the author, so I may also try this one which is about a girl who thinks her life is normal and it’s a perfectly normal day when she walks into her house only to have her mother scream in response to seeing her. You see, she died seven years ago… Goodreads
MEET ME at the GRAND, LINDSAY HARREL (april)
I don’t think I’ve read anything by Lindsay, but this one looks sweet and it’s part of a multi author series taht will include a book by Christin Krumm, an author who wrote a Christmas novel I loved. So giving this one a chance is perhaps something I’d enjoy! Goodreads
FIRST LOVE, SECOND DRAFT, BECCA KINZER (april)
I haven’t read any of Becca’s novels but I’ve wanted to ever since her debut. Plus the publisher did send me a copy of this so I’m even more excited to read this one. Goodreads

TWO SECONDS TOO LATE, DANI PETTREY (april)
Seeing this release date reminds me that I’ve still got to read the first book in this new series by Dani! Hoping to enjoy these new adventures. Goodreads
WHAT HAPPENS in AMSTERDAM, RACHEL LYNN SOLOMON (may)
This one just looks so cute and colorful. I haven’t read anything by Rachel, but I know many love her books and I’ll confess, I’m letting the cover sway me – big time, by adding this one here. This said, the story also sounds cute, too. Goodreads
MIDNIGHT on the SCOTTISH SHORE, SARAH SUNDIN (february)
Sarah’s books are always so well written and just… Good. Hoping this continues with this release, too. Goodreads
UNEASY STREET, BECKY WADE (february)
The third and final novel in Becky’s first independently published series (Sons of Scandal) is one I’ll have to read not just so that I can mark this series “complete,” but also because I always enjoy her novels. Goodreads
Which of these are you excited for? (I’m sure I’ll find more as the year goes on, but since I’m working towards being more selective, I like a short list!) Which ones have you or would you read? What books are on your anticipated list of the year? Comment all of your thoughts below! Let’s talk.Â

Here’s hoping we both enjoy Gayle’s new novel if we pick it up! Sounds like it might be quite interesting. :)

I think so too! It looks like it’d be a really fun read. :)
So many great sounding books to look forward to this year!
Definitely – and I’m sure we’ll all find even more as we move further into the year. :)
I didn’t know Gayle Foreman had a new book coming out! I’ll have to try to find a copy of it.
I saw it on someone else’s list a couple of weeks ago and was immediately curious! I liked If I Stay so reading something new by her sounds interesting. :)
What Happens in Amsterdam has caught my eye as well, it does look fun and I have loved a few other Rachel Lynn Solomon books before :)
Yay! Glad to know you’ve liked other books by Rachel. It just looks so cute and sweet. :)
I’m looking forward to reading First Love, Second Draft. It sounds like it’s going to be a fun read.

YAY! So glad to know this, Carrie. Thanks for sharing. :)
I have Midnight on the Scottish Shore and First Love, Second Draft on my possible list. Great list!
Hopefully we BOTH enjoy these two, Carla! They sound good. :)
I’m very excited to read Uneasy Street. I’ve really loved Wade’s series. And I look forward to Kinzer’s next book as well. Great list! I hope you love all these books. 🙂
Me too, Nicole! Hoping Uneasy Street is a fab ending to this series. And I’m hopeful Becca’s book is a good read, too. :)
I’m looking forward to AFTER LIFE too. I’ve never read anything by Forman. I hope you enjoy all these when you read them!
Happy TTT!

Thanks, Susan! I hope I enjoy this one as well. Much to my surprise I did enjoy If I Stay so reading something else by Gayle should be a priority. :)

I think it does too, Katie! Seems like it’d be a great, colorful read. :)
Well we match on the Katherine Center books, all the others are unfamiliar to me but they do look inviting.
I loved Katherine Center’s ‘Happiness’ book so I’m eager to read more by her. :)
I’m just shocked Gayle Forman has a new book out, I used to love her books.

Right? I didn’t know she had a new one coming! I saw it on someone’s list a couple weeks ago and am now, well, curious. :)
I love If I Stay when i was a teen, her new book sounds interesting. And i want to read more by Katherine Center, her books sound lovey and realistic
I’m eager to read more by Katherine and I too liked If I Stay. It surprised me in good ways. :)
I have read and loved both of Becca’s books! I can’t wait for this one :) I am very late this week, it’s been busy. Have a great rest of your week!
I’m eager to read Becca’s too! Hope to start it this coming week. :) You too, Cindy – have a good read of the week! Hope you’ve had a chance to slow down.
I hope to slow down tomorrow ;)
And I hope you did! :)
These all sound so good, even if I’m a little biased towards the only author on the list I’ve read, Rachel Lynn Solomon. Happy reading in 2025!
Rachel’s 2025 book looks super fun and colorful too! Maybe it’ll be the one that I finally read by her (I always see positive things about her books, but never read any!).
