MIDSEASON TV SHOW PREVIEW 2025: NEW COMEDY AND MYSTERY!

The winter break is over for some (if not all) of our favorite TV shows. But also arriving with these returns is some new TV shows. This inspires today’s publication which looks at a few of the Midseason TV preview 2025. This lineup has comedy, drama and even one or two that fall somewhere in-between. Let’s see what other TV “addictions” storytellers have high hopes for.

The shows you can find range from stories led by familiar stars and faces we perhaps don’t recognize. But whatever the case, we’re going to explore some of these stories that will perhaps become our next curiosity.

MIDSEASON TV PREVIEW 2025

DOC – JANUARY 7

Where: Fox

Molly Parker stars as the titular moniker in a story about a woman who is the victim of a tragic accident that wipes her memories of the last eight years. The story will, presumably be about her trying to reclaim these fragments of her past.

SHIFTING GEARS – JANUARY 8

Where: ABC

Tim Allen returns to sitcom TV in this comedy about a man who shares an estranged relationship with the daughter and his two grandchildren who wind up needing to move in with him. Kat Dennings, who is also no stranger to sitcom TV will co-star.

AMERICAN PRIMEVAL – JANUARY 9

Where: Netflix

This one will feature Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin and is said to be an “exploration” of the early 1800s day in the American West. So, I’m getting that it’s a western (described as “gritty”) that is likely trying to pickup some popularity based on the reception to Taylor Sheridan western dramas.

WATSON – JANUARY 26

Where: CBS

This is a modern drama that starts after the death of Sherlock Holmes. Probably hoping to pick up some of the people who are missing BBC’s Sherlock or CBS’ former Sherlockian drama Elementary, this one has Morris Chestnut in the role of Watson as he rebuilds his life after the death of his friend.

THE HUNTING PARTY – FEBRUARY 3

Where: NBC

A group of law enforcement track down dangerous criminals who have escaped from a mysterious prison. Melissa Roxburgh from Manifest will lead this cast that also includes Nick Wechsler (from Revenge) and Patrick Sabongui.

GOOD COP/BAD COP – FEBRUARY 19

Where: CW

This one has Leighton Meester returning to TV to play one half of a sibling detective duo who work to solve mysteries and crimes. While the cop/detective angle feels very moot and the “same,” the fact that these two are siblings rather than would-be lovers makes me curious.

SUITS: LA – FEBRUARY 23

Where: NBC

A much buzzed about drama, this is a spin-off (it’s not a reboot) of USA Network’s Suits. The show will be led by Stephen Amell, and will include a guest turn by Gabriel Macht from the original drama. I’m sure this one will be soapier than even its inspiration and certainly very modern.

GROSSE POINTE GARDEN SOCIETY – FEBRUARY 23

Where: NBC

This one follows a gardening club who end up being plagued by scandal, and perhaps murder, too! Not sure the direction this dramedy will take, but I’m wondering if it will kind of have the feeling of the cozy British mystery’s we all love.
