‘BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS’ IS MAGIC ROMANCE WITH REAL LIFE MARRIED COUPLE
Another title in the padded lineup of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas 2024 premieres, Believe in Christmas is (as applies to any of these) cute with dashes of magic.
Believe in Christmas (2024) TV Film Review
Finding her next story is proving a challenge for Bea (Meghan Ory). She wants to write about a trending beauty product that will resonate with female readers. Her boss, however, has other plans for the journalist. Feel good is the rule for this Christmas story. A bit of magic enters her life though when her best friend, Emilia (Lindura) plans a trip for them to Christmasland.
Skeptical about this, she reluctantly agrees to go with hopes that maybe it will inspire her required story. There she also meets Ethan (John Rearden), a local who has just returned home for the season.

Boasting another script that again pokes fun at its own genre (in an endearing kind of way), Believe in Christmas revisits the idea that there are towns that live and breath Christmas, oozing with the season 24/7. This isn’t a concept I love, but it’s certainly one that TV films love to saturate the genre in. There has even been a movie, from the past, titled Christmas Land which is a town moniker this film also wears.
Moving beyond this annoyance, the film does have a strong friendship bond and banter, which is a cute way to set up a story before they meet other people. What I love best about this film is the movie trivia knowing that its co-stars are married in real life. Like other titles, this is something Christmas movies like to do now and then, and it’s always a cute little addition to a movie. The romances are sweet and of course there is lots of magic in this one.
While not a new favorite, the film is still something easy to play when you need a pick-me-up that you can simply enjoy.
