‘RETURN TO OFFICE’ IS ANOTHER REALLY CUTE WORKPLACE ROMANCE

Movie number three in the Loveuary lineup, Return to Office is another darling romance flick from Hallmark.

Return to Office (2025) Hallmark TV Film Review

After working comfortably from home where PJs are never optional, returning to hybrid work takes a bit of adjusting for Liv (Janel Parrish). Her return to the office means she has to share a desk with another employee. As they each settle into new routines and work, they begin to share notes where they become affectionately known as Ms. Monday and Mr. Tuesday. Tom (Scott Michael Foster) is, like Liv, adjusting to new routines and sharing a workspace. But the more notes that pass between these two, the more they find that this could be a partnership that works beyond the office walls…

Though I’ve said it more than once, I’ll say it again, I really do like Janel Parrish. She was in one of the network’s more emotional Christmas flicks first time I saw her. Since then, she always seems to play a likable heroine, including 2024’s Sugarplummed. In this, she’s a professional who is trying to readjust with a new routine. From the first time I read about this one, it was another title I was curious to give a chance and it didn’t disappoint.

While trendy in films doesn’t always work, I think Return to Office is ok because it brings in some of the charm of romantic-comedies that came before. The story I would say tries to pull in some You’ve Got Mail and likely other peers, too. Plus there are some elements of Netflix’s workplace comedy Set it Up as well. All in all, while there are always some things that a viewer would like to be slightly different or change, but this film is cute. The banter is new and different because of notes and while it doesn’t really reinvent anything, it’s still good fun and the fact that it starts merely friendly, and leads to a bit of a romance, well, that’s cute.
