Telling a story about rediscovering, and quite seasonally appropriate, faith, Journey to You brings together Dayspring and Hallmark in another partnership.

Pouring everything into her career means that Monica (Erin Cahill) is expecting to receive a big promotion that is the next step in her career. When things don’t go as she might expect, she ends up questioning it all, including the age old question of what now? Her mother urges her to take a break from it all, to get away. The plan is to walk the Camino de Santiago, a place that surprises Monica in more ways than one, including a kind stranger (Erik Valdez) she meets while going on this journey.

The subgenre isn’t something I consider “my thing” now, but this doesn’t mean I don’t find a film like this cute. It’s the usual kind of charming. Only in this film, as is true of an of the network’s DaySpring titles, there is the deeper stories and emotions to play out.
If Journey to You is a film you’ve seen or you plan to, Erin Cahill starring will be appealing to frequent network viewers. What interests me more is seeing a new co-star. I love when these productions bring in new faces, and this always adds new energy to the story. I like Erik and of course, like Cahill’s Monica, well he too has a story that requires some emotional healing.
I’m not into all of the the messaging, but there is still plenty to cheer for. Emotional, but ultimately leaving everyone with smiles, Journey to You will be something any frequent Hallmark viewer will enjoy.
