‘CURIOUS CATERER: FORBIDDEN FRUIT’ SENDS GOLDY AND TOM ON A DATE!
Back to solve another (unexpected!) mystery, Goldy and Tom find they again play sleuths in Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit.
Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
Doing things normally isn’t normal for Goldy and Tom (Nikki DeLoach, Andrew Walker). From the moment they meet, they get into more than one unusual and possibly life threatening situation. Tom the detective and Goldy the caterer have seen their share of terrible things as they solve crimes together, but tonight is special. Tonight is their first date.
When Goldy is recruited to cater the concert event they plan to attend last minute, their life continues to be less than normal. Still Goldy determines to enjoy this first date, little realizing that her teenage dreams and current happiness is about to collide with an unhappy night.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘CRIMES OF FASHION: KILLER CLUTCH’ IS PARISIAN MYSTERY!
The fifth film in the series (with two additional rumored to be in production), these Curious Caterer movies are actually some of my favorites. I like the leads together who have been in prior movies outside of these roles. From what I’ve seen (and yes I do have one or two movies in this series I haven’t seen yet), I think this pair has as nice chemistry and I enjoy the let’s-see-what-we-have bond between Goldy and Tom. Given how many titles his series has stacked up, I’d say it’s well past time for this date.
Like any of its peers or prior series movies, Curious Caterer Forbidden Fruit is fun. There’s more romance (albeit still very subtle) combined with the usual mystery Goldy just cannot help but add her own interpretation of the case. What I like about this partnership is I think, mostly, the writing allows both characters to have strengths without putting either of the characters down. They work together and it’s a mutual respect for each other.
If you enjoy mysteries that are on the lighter side, this is another one you won’t want to miss. Plus, the ending is refreshing and honest, too, which is a pro. All this to say, make time for this one.

Content: This one does, obviously, contain murder and we see the victims die or lying on the floor dead or passed out. There is discussion of poison and someone dies from an electrical shock. There is a tense scene near the end if you’re not into this. The film is PG.
