‘LOVE ON THE DANUBE: LOVE SONG’ REVIEW
A cruise, matchmaking and adventure makes up the main factors of this Love on the Danube: Love Song film. From 2024, the film is, like almost anything with the trademark crown of Hallmark, it’s quite cute.
Love on the Danube: Love Song (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
Taking a break is something Sarah (Nazeen Contractor) needs to learn. She’s a little too attentive to each and every whim her boss demands of her, and yet, in her quest to become an important businesswoman, she doesn’t seem to understand boundaries. This is much to the disappointment of her mother (Pamela Sinha), a woman still learning to live without her husband. She’s also struggling with being a part of a Broadway performance on the cruise, and she’d like her daughter to be present.
While on this cruise, Sarah meets Jack (Wes Brown), a business owner who, unlike Sarah, seems to know how to enjoy life. While trying to build a bond again with his dad (David Samartin), Jack and Sarah decide to play matchmaker to their lonely parents, hoping that the European stops they make sparks romance!

Part of the Danube trio collection, this first title made its debut as a Hallmark+ exclusive last year. However, it’s not one I saw until now. The film, while silly in places, is also charming and really sweet. The concept of matchmaking is a favorite in romantic-comedy films, and this one is slightly different in how it goes about it (as its adult’s aka Jack and Sarah parent trapping their parents!).
There is, like one of its trio “sister” titles, lots of pretty architecture and fun stops for the characters along the way. We get to see Sarah and Jack each other’s company, though the ending gets a little drama heavy. I think overall TV films have improved (greatly) with being “too dramatic” as it comes to a close, but regardless of this complaint, again, Love on the Danube: Love Song is quite sweet and is certainly a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
