‘ROSEMARY AND THYME’ IS A REALLY GOOD BRITISH DRAMEDY THAT ENTERTAINS
A show from ITV that only had three seasons, Rosemary and Thyme is all kinds of fun and cute.

‘ROSEMARY AND THYME’ IS A REALLY GOOD BRITISH DRAMEDY THAT ENTERTAINS. Reviewing the 2003 three season series Rosemary and Thyme! Share on X
This is a short three and done show that is all kinds of entertaining. It additionally fits nicely with the usual Brit cozy mystery mold. The show is easy watching even though it’s about murder. Still, what I like about Rosemary and Thyme (and other similar shows) is how weirdly nonchalant it is. There is an indescribable matter-of-fact storytelling and dialogue going on that just suits the stories. The actors play this all so very well, too
The cast is wonderful and it’s great fun to see Pam Ferris (British period drama favorite from productions like Call the Midwife or Our Mutual Friend) in this. Felicity Kendal was also in the five season 70s sitcom Good Neighbors which is a funny show about a married couple. The cases don’t necessarily reinvent anything about mysteries, but they remain entertaining. Plus the travelling from place to place adds more. While the show has one-episode characters, it doesn’t always boast familiar guest stars. However, one episode does have the Scarlet Pimpernel Anthony Andrews, which is good fun.
If you’re a fan of light hearted British dramedies like Father Brown or any other number of murder mysteries, Rosemary and Thyme is another to add to your binge repertoire.
Stream, at publication, Rosemary and Thyme on places like Britbox or Hallmark+
Content: nothing much to note. Dead bodies appear in some episodes and the sleuths receive threats. People try to choke them, other times there is a gun or other weapon. Some affairs are uncovered, and one episode deals with someone ripping a woman’s clothes.
