In sad period drama news (or likely not sad for many viewers), according to a Radio Times piece, Matthew Goode has confirmed he won’t be (again) reprising his role as Henry in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. Goode was absent in the second Downton Abbey feature film because of filming conflicts. In the RT piece, he is quoted as saying that perhaps his absence is a “good thing.” I don’t agree because I feel like Mary’s second love story was nice (especially after her intense grief over losing the love of her life), even with its ups and downs, so to see it deteriorate is actually sad to me. I don’t have to see Henry for the whole movie, but knowing they are still good would be nice.
