FATE STRIKES TWICE

It’s officially official, Disney’s Freaky Friday 2 (or whatever its official title will be) is in production. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will return as Anna and Tess, and headlines say Mark Harmon and Chad Michael Murray will also return. The details of the plot are limited but do say it will follow Anna who is raising a daughter of her own and is about to become a stepmother to another daughter. Thing is, what do we think this means!? She and Chad’s character married and divorced? They never married but won’t be marrying in this? Will he just be a passing character in this sequel? Additionally, Julia Butters from American Housewife will star, and the film is set to make its mark in theaters. Lohan and Curtis will also produce.

SOCIAL MEDIA MOMENTS FROM THE FAMOUS RELATIONSHIP EVERYONE IS OBSESSED WITH

Lots of gushing on social media and headlines occurred this week because of the appearance Travis Kelce made on stage at Taylor Swift’s London Eras tour performance. Everyone is taking this as an opportunity to “bash” her exes and exalt Travis as a guy “proud” of Taylor. Here’s the thing, Travis has been in the “spotlight” (with her) more than Taylor’s exes perhaps have. However, he along with his brother have also talked (from what little I see on social media) about this level of fame (the relationship with Swift) being crazy and insane. It’s also presented challenges for Travis which I think he’s touched on. He even said that there is something to be said for keeping a relationship private but he’s also proud of Swift. In cast this isn’t common knowledge, both things can be true; we can have a private relationship and still be proud of the person we’re in that relationship with.

I think it’s dishonest to claim that Travis is THE guy for Swift because he’s chill with this level of fame. Actually, I think he does have some reservations, yet he tries to handle them, and hopefully, most of all, they share mutual respect and love.

LAST THINGS

Speaking of football, Hallmark is banking on the popularity of the above mentioned relationship and producing their own football romance A Holiday Touchdown to air this Christmas season. It will feature Tyler Hynes and Hunter King.

If you watch All American on CW, Daniel Ezra is exiting the show. He won’t be a series regular in season seven after playing Spencer James for six seasons.

NETFLIX REVIEW | ‘HIT MAN’: NETFLIX AND GLEN POWELL PRODUCE AN ODD DARK COMEDY

In sad news, actor Bill Cobbs passed away this past week.

Speaking of CW, on the heels of his just wrapped show, Walker, Jared Padalecki has opinions on the industry and specifically, the CW, a network he’s worked with and for over twenty years (first with Gilmore Girls then Supernatural). The actor says he doesn’t have plans to do another TV show, unless the circumstances were right. He cites that it’s a lot of time to be a star or produce a TV show, and he wants to spend more time with his wife (who guest starred alongside him on Walker) and three kids. We’ll talk more on this in an upcoming substack.

Last week I forgot to share the “first look” photo for the upcoming adaptation of The Forsyte Saga which is being produced, in part, by Masterpiece PBS. So here is that photo!

Netflix has optioned the rights to Emily Henry’s novel Happy Place.
