THE MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS RELEASING JUNE – DECEMBER 2025

Hey, hey! It’s that time of year (again – and also, how are we six months gone in 2025 already?) where we feature the anticipated June (or July) through December 2025 books on our lists! From contemporary to historical, there are lots of great titles to look forward to. Plus, luckily for those of us who like our “comfort authors,” we probably all have favorites set to release new books, too.

ANTICIPATED JUNE – DECEMBER 2025 BOOKS

AND THEN THERE WAS YOU, SOPHIE COUSENS, november

I read my first book by Sophie earlier this year and quite enjoyed it so I’m eager to read something else. Goodreads

THE HEART OF BENNET HOLLOW, JOANNE BISCHOF DEWITT, October

This one is said to be a retelling of Pride and Prejudice set in the early 1900s and taking place in Virginia. Seems like it would be a good read and I have read other books by Joanne that were excellent. Goodreads

NOT QUITE DEAD YET, HOLLY JACKSON, july

Since I really liked Holly’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, I was curious to spy a new release from Holly Jackson. This is described as an adult novel and is about a woman who, suffering a severe brain trauma, is told she’ll die within the week. Now she plans to solve her own murder. I think the concept sounds interesting, but will confess I don’t love the idea of reading a 300 some page novel where the lead dies… so it’s kind of a coin toss. Goodreads

FOR the RECORD, EMMA LORD, august

I have only read one novel by Emma, but it was fun so hopefully another by her would be equally so. Plus, I mean, this is rumored to be inspired by the pop star and football player phenomenon only this time it’s about two musicians so there is distance and differences. Goodreads

FAKE SKATING and MAID for EACH OTHER, LYNN PAINTER

I read one novel by Lynn and did enjoy it, so reading more by her is in my mental TBR lineup. She has two releasing in this latter half of 2025, and so I ask you, which one are you happiest or most curious about? ‘Skating’ on Goodreads | ‘Maid’ on Goodreads

IF ALL ELSE SAILS, EMMA ST. CLAIR, august

How fun and cute does this one look? Seems like the most ideal summer read, but more than that, maybe this will finally be the book I read by beloved author Emma St. Clair. Goodreads

WE MET LIKE THIS, KASIE WEST, September

Not sure if I’ll like Kasie’s writing as an adult author, but of course I’m going to give her first adult release a chance. It looks like a fun read, right? Goodreads

    1. Completely understand this, Pam. I have to be in the right reader mood too for some books. Mainly it’s genre, but even sometimes an author too. The library is, I am sure, nice for that reason – having the chance to read books we may enjoy but ultimately don’t consider favorites. :)

    1. I cannot remember if I looked up (I have with some books and reviews are always helpful) Kasie’s or not, but I saw an Instagram post she shared stating that this was 100% going to be all adult so I definitely did assume there’d be the usual PG-13 (if not R) content with secular fiction. We’ll see if I read it or not and if so, what I think! Bummer about Emma’s. It’s always disappointing when a book by an author we like or read doesn’t suit. Hope your anticipated reads are all good! :)

    1. Hope you enjoy her books if you do, Alicia. I though the ‘Good Girl’ book was quite entertaining and now I want to read more by her. :)
