SOME OF THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE BOOK COVERS ON MY SHELF!
When it comes to my book list on this week each year, I like to look at some of the red, white and blue book covers from my bookshelf. This, of course, is because of the Fourth of July holiday. So, yes, I’m keeping that same annual book list tradition going.
LIST | ‘THE APARTMENT’ IS 65 YEARS YOUNG! CELEBRATING THE MOVIE IN ITS ANNIVERSARY YEAR
SOME OF THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE BOOK COVERS ON MY SHELF! #Reader #Reading #RedWhiteandBlue #BookList #TopTenList #TopTenTuesday Share on XAny time I put a list like this together (one that I put together frequently), the question of finding new titles always crops up. Sometimes I think I do manage this and other times, I fail epically. It’s time to get to the “looking” part of this week’s list.
RED, WHITE and BLUE BOOK COVERS
MANSFIELD PARK, JANE AUSTEN
This isn’t “blue” in the traditional way, but since I break rules with these book lists all the time, I’m going for it. Goodreads
THE RUNAWAY PRINCESS, HESTER BROWNE
A title I’m sure I have previously shared on a list like this, The Runaway Princess was also a favorite read once upon a time. Goodreads
ALONG for the RIDE, SARAH DESSEN
I’m quite sure this is another I’ve featured before on a red, white and blue book list, but it’s quite ideal so yes, I’m repeat sharing. Goodreads

THE CODEBREAKER’S DAUGHTER, AMY LYNN GREEN
Written by an author that I haven’t read but would like to. She writes historical fiction and this is her latest release – it has the red and blue, and a kind of “white” shading, too. Goodreads
PRINCESS EVER AFTER, RACHEL HAUCK
A book I read years ago, but I did enjoy the series quite a lot. Someday maybe I’ll read them again and remember how it all plays out. Goodreads
GLAMOUR in GLASS, MARY ROBINETTE KOWAL
This one has white tones and so we’re using it because I didn’t pick out many to fit the “white” shading this list. I’ve had this book for years, and I think it’s kind of a Jane Austen inspired tale. Goodreads
THE GREAT DIVORCE, C.S. LEWIS
I’ve never read this but do hear good things. So who knows, maybe someday I’ll read the book. Goodreads
AMERICAN ROYALS and A QUEEN’S MATCH, KATHARINE MCGEE
A sequel to A Queen’s Game, A Queen’s Match isn’t a title I own as of now because of course it’s not out in the world yet (it has a November release date and I think I did preorder the book), but it does have the blue-ish coloring even if it is more of a neon color versus the darker blue typically used in July Fourth décor. American Royals is one I’ve included on lists like this but we’re repeating. ‘Royals’ on Goodreads | ‘Match’ on Goodreads

TWO SECONDS too LATE, DANI PETTREY
I think this is the first novel by Dani that I didn’t get “hot off the press.” I had it preordered but then that order cancelled (why I don’t know!). I recently ordered a copy again so it should find its way to my shelf soon-ish. Goodreads
THE LAND BENEATH US and THE SKY ABOVE US, SARAH SUNDIN
Yes we’ve used these in a red, white, and blue book list, but they just feel like good fits. ‘Land’ on Goodreads | ‘Sky’ on Goodreads
What topic did you feature this week? Have you read any of the books on this list? Would you? Let’s talk all of the book things below!
Thank you for visiting! Please do return soon.

A great collection of covers!

I do always go with the cover theme, but they are always so much simpler. :)
This is a fun tradition. Thanks for stopping by earlier.
It is. Always nice to have a few book lists (for planning) that are the same each year. :)
Ooo I love that cover for Mansfield Park!
I do too! Not totally a “traditional” blue, but I wanted to feature it anyway. ;)
Ooh, this is the first time I’ve seen that cover for Mansfield Park! It’s beautiful 😍
I think so too! I’m putting together a giveaway that is Jane Austen themed (because her two popular versions of Pride and Prejudice have bit anniversaries this year) and I think I need to include one of these editions. :)
The Codebreaker’s Daughter is really intriguing! I enjoyed it :) I hope you get to read it soon.
That’s great to hear! I look forward to it. :)
I chose some clean romance or romance with sex as a side dish!
Topics that we get to choose can indeed by fun… but sometimes I’m also like, “noooo! Just tell me what to feature.” ;)
I LOVED Amy Lynn Green’s first book, Things We Didn’t Say. I have her newest release, but haven’t read it yet. My book club will eventually be reading The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis, just not sure when. I hope you have a great week, and Happy Independence Day!!
I’m so glad, Cindy! I haven’t read any of Amy’s book, much to my bookish shame, but I hope to read them at some point. :) I hear GREAT things about Lewis’ book, but it’s not one I’ve read. Hopefully someday. And same to you! Hope you have a great Independence Day.
There is NO shame! There are SO many books and authors, it is impossible to read them all.
There ARE! So many books and stories out there. Someday I plan to make actually headway on those unread on my shelf. ;) I also need to unhaul a bunch again.
Unhauling is *SO* hard because someday you might want to read it. I have one book on my shelf that I don’t think I will ever read, but another blogger gave it to me, so I feel guilty not giving it a try, so it continues to sit there.
I 100% understand that – and I too have thought about the “what ifs” of eventually wanting to read a book. But through the yeas I’ve also learned that I’m ok letting books go and I’m still learning. :)
Hooray for the red, white, and blue! Happy Fourth and Happy TTT!

Happiest Fourth to you as well, Susan! :)
I’ve never seen that cover of Mansfield Park before. It’s definitely blue though.
