WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT ‘NCIS: TONY AND ZIVA’
In one month from now, one of the most anticipated streaming series is about to drop. It’s this event that inspires us to put together a little What we Know about NCIS: Tony and Ziva, which is the latest incarnation of the NCIS world. An exclusive streaming series to Paramount+, this show seems to be one that will be nostalgic and complementary to the original show, but also be its own incarnation.

The show, just in case you haven’t seen all of the press, will follow NCIS OG character Tony DiNozzo (played by original cast member Michael Weatherly) and season three cast edition Cote de Pablo playing Ziva David. The pair were, of course, quick to develop a will-they-or-won’t-they love story which teased us (and them!) for multiple seasons on NCIS until Ziva left and eventually was presumed dead.

In the aftermath of this, Tony DiNozzo left NCIS to raise the daughter he didn’t know he had. Ziva was discovered alive of course and the pair, since then, have been raising their daughter Tali. But are they together?

ABOUT the new show
Despite everything pointing to Tony and Ziva being together raising their girl, they aren’t really, well, together! The premise picks up in a “real time” scenario so years after we last saw Tony on NCIS which was season thirteen (unless you count his 21 cameo) and Ziva appeared last (as a result) in season ten before guesting in seasons eleven and seventeen. This drama is rumored to be more of an “adventure” than the other NCIS shows because it will be a connective story throughout the ten-episode series. According to the Paramount+ logline, the show’s official story is as follows:
NCIS: TONY & ZIVA picks up after Ziva’s supposed death when Tony left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then—and where we find them in NCIS: TONY & ZIVA—Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after. – Paramount+
THE CAST in CHARACTERS
Joining lead stars Weatherly and de Pablo is an impressive cast with recognizable names. These names include Isla Gie (daughter Tali); Amita Suman (Tony’s security firm employee); Maximillian Osinki (elusive computer hacker); Nassima Benchicou (French intelligence playing two sides); Julian Ovenden (from Foyle’s War, Ovenden plays an Interpol leader); Terence Maynard (a “deeply experienced” therapist); Lara Rossie (Tali’s “caretaker” and bodyguard); and James D’Arcy (an Interpol official). What do you think of the addition of these actors and their characters?

SEXY TIMES
Rumor has it that this show, in addition to its adventure will have some, shall we say, sexy times between de Pablo and Weatherly! The trailer reportedly suggests this (I don’t watch trailers if I can help it because I like to go in “blind” versus having big expectations), so if true, this deviates from the norm we see in this franchise. The rumor also is that the rating will be TV-MA which would lend itself to the show having some, well, more intimate moments along with the possibility of some strong profanity. These facts along with the stories about Cote de Pablo talking about declining an “intimacy coordinator” for the show all lead to…
