‘THE CHRISTMAS CUP’: A STORY OF GOOD NATURED RIVALRY!
Putting a When Calls the Heart alumni in the co-lead role, The Christmas Cup also seems to have an absurdly fun time.

Being home isn’t something Staff Sergeant Kelly Brandt (Rhiannon Fish) planned on. She’s recovering from an injury but is eager to return to her unit where she feels she serves best. Her injury however may prevent her from doing this. Hoping to keep her spirits up, Kelly’s family tries to encourage her to lead a team in their annual local sporting competition called Christmas Cup.
Reluctant at first, Kelly soon agrees, and learns there are many ways to use her strengths. With the help of the fire captain, Quinn Stanton (Ben Rosenbaum), the pair discover some of these ways together.

Rhiannon is a face you’ll recognize instantly and Ben is, of course, a TV star in Hallmark’s favorite show, When Calls the Heart. Along these lines, fans will delight to see WCTH cameos, too. The rest of the characters consist of family members who lovingly encourage and tease Kelly and Quinn, which means there is lots to like about everyone. They’re good people which makes them difficult to dislike.
Full of good humor and lots of heart, I did thoroughly enjoy this one. This is one of those that has some exaggerated physical antics, good competition and is just all-around entertaining. Furthermore, this is the kind of film that, if we let it, ideally reminds us what this type of movie is meant to do. Its purpose is to make us smile and root on the characters. The Christmas Cup delightfully accomplishes this and combines that with a good nature, and well, this is a winning combination.
