In the aftermath of the Andie Bell case, Pip (Emma Myers) plans to wrap her podcast chronicling this story and then, move on. She is going to have a normal life and maybe explore a deeper relationship with Ravi (Zain Iqbal), the cute boy she befriended while trying to help him find closure after the death of his brother. Then something changes. While the friends and former loves of Andie and Sal gather for a memorial, one of its attendees suddenly disappears.
Unable to say no to her friend and the brother of the disappeared, Pip gets out her recording equipment and sets out to help Connor (Jude Morgan-Collie) learn what happened to Jamie (Eden H. Davis), and how the sinister Max Hastings (Henry Ashton) is connected!

Based on the sequel novel to Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, this show is yet again an easy and addictive watch. The series reunites many of the same characters while telling the mystery that unfolds in Jackson’s Good Girl, Bad Blood. This story piggybacks off the conclusion of the first case, and in some regards is an extension of it, but is also a story of its own which I respect.

All I need is to catch up again with Pip and Co. and have fun seeing what they are up to. They are up to the same silliness and of course, crime solving too. This show, which is also produced by BBC, is a unique blend of cozy and yes, even edgy too. This is because of the music and different ways Pip solves cases. The series uses a tense open (a fire and someone seemingly dying) to build instant suspense and then travels back two weeks before so that we build up to those two weeks.
Only six episodes, this is an easy binge watch. There are changes from the book (this gives Pip more of first-hand investment in solving Jamie’s case and seems more focused on the aftermath/trial of the Bell case), but overall, I do think this this still tells the gist of the story without losing the voice of Jackson’s novel.
If you enjoy season one of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, well you will likely like these installments too. Don’t miss out on the new adventures of Pip and co in this well told story that has new clues to unravel.
