‘YOU, ALWAYS’: A NETFLIX TITLE SURE TO CHARM ITS VIEWER
Dropping on Netflix is You, Always, a new (at least to U.S. viewers) romantic-comedy that uses the best friend’s trope.
You, Always (2026) Netflix Film Review
Life is good for Ethan (Adrian Grenier). He has a full life and good career as a search and rescue member after his turn in the military. His life also includes adventures and time spent with his best friend, Jen (Jessica De Gouw) and her young daughter Sophie (Aria Burton). But normalcy soon diminishes when, after being hurt by Ethan, Jen meets Patrick (Desmond Chiam), a talented and charming author who sweeps her off her feet.
This new arrival suddenly makes Ethan realize that there may be more than friendship between him and Jen.

‘YOU, ALWAYS’: A NETFLIX TITLE SURE TO CHARM ITS VIEWER. #AdrianGenier leads new rom-com now streaming on #Netflix. Share on XA title that filmed some two years ago in Australia, finally the U.S. is getting a chance to see You, Always and for those of us who know our pop culture, the timing of this release isn’t totally without irony. This film places Adrian Grenier in the leading man role who is also known for his role as Nate in The Devil Wears Prada. Of course, the sequel of this film was just released but excludes Grenier’s Nate from its story. In this, we see Ethan play the role of best friend who stands by. The question we have as viewers is, of course, will Ethan get the girl?
The rest of this film, outside of its leading man, is good. I quite enjoyed seeing Jessica in her role and of course, loved the Australian beauty. There is romance and surprisingly, there is an unexpected element here and there even with the strength of comfort overriding everything. That said, the film still falls into some of the annoying conversations or arguments. Regardless, if you have enjoyed other of the international romances that have dropped on places like Netflix, I would recommend this one. It’s really quite delightful.

Content: the film is TV-MA and opens with a man’s bare butt. The dialogue then goes on to discuss what his condition is, which has to do with his, well, privates. The scene is played for laughs and is in a medical office. There is profanity (including the f-word), too. Portions of the script involve reading selections from a steamy romance novel. There is mention of (and we see) a same-sex couple (if this bothers you). There is a sensual scene or two, but nothing terrible.
