EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THE PRIME VIDEO SHOW ‘ELLE.’ Looking at what we know about the #Prime Video show #Elle, a prequel to the popular Legally Blonde flicks. Share on XSo, all this to say, let’s dispense with the conversation and introduce you to the details of the things we know about Elle.
EVERYTHING WE KNOW about ELLE
WHAT WILL the SERIES be ABOUT?
If you don’t know what this eight-episode binge drop TV series is about, which is totally fair, then than this answer is for you. Elle is a prequel show that will follow Elle Woods, the character Reese Witherspoon made famous in the 2001 film Legally Blonde. This show follows the character as a teenager in 1995, before her time in college where she challenges all of us to use our smarts with her iconic quote that asks simply “what, like it’s hard?”
According to Amazon MGM Studios, the first season will introduce us to Elle during her high school years, and the “about” line reads as follows:
“Elle follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.”– via Amazon MGM Studios
Described as being “from the world of Legally Blonde,” this one is sure to pull back viewers looking for that trending sense of nostalgia.

WHO is in the CAST of ELLE?
In the iconic role of Elle Woods, the relative newcomer Lexi Minetree has been cast. Additional cast will include June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, and Zac Looker.
But the names that appear in front of the camera aren’t the only ones we may recognize. Additionally, there are some big stars also credited as producers for Elle which includes Reese Witherspoon as an executive producer and Hello Sunshine, the production company that Witherspoon is a part of will also produce this series.
THOUGHTS
Under this heading, which is just some of my personal thoughts, I have to confess, I tend to loathe prequels. I don’t want to know what came before when I know the after or the present. I like a linear story unless we’re talking about a well-done story with a well-timed flashback. To be honest, I would apply this even to Elle, a story about a character I love.

I am prepared to find Elle entertaining, but also find it disappointing because we already know where Elle ends up and how she gets there, so seeing these relationships that (seemingly) don’t last, well, that I’m not too keen on. Right or wrong, this is where I’m at!
IS THERE a TRAILER?
There was only a teaser trailer for a while, but there now a full trailer, too, so check that one out below!
WHEN and WHERE?
Elle will drop all episodes on Prime Video July 1! Make sure to mark the calendar.
A second seasons has also been ordered prior to this first season drop, so no matter how this binge ends, there is more story to tell in this Elle Woods timeline.
You can watch the films Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2 on MGM+ or find them currently on Roku or Tubi; or you can digitally purchase the films on places like Prime Video
