TEN OF THE LOVELY AUTHORS I USED TO CHAT WITH
I’m one of those boring people and readers who cannotsay I have ever met an author. However, in the past, I have had lovely chats with some. Back in the heyday of blog tours, people conversing on blogs (that is, sadly, more over than not!) and book blogging, there was always some cool conversation going with the people I followed either through either social media or thanks to authors stopping by here after I reviewed a book by them; an encounter that to me was always so cool and fun. So, while I cannot share the cool experience (that I am sure all of you can!) that would be showing off photos of meetings or other fun author events, I will shout-out some of the authors I chatted with and some who would always kindly send me their new releases.

Linking Up with That Artsy Reader Girl September 15: Authors I’ve Met (This topic encompasses a lot: your favorite indie bookstores, indie books, indie authors, indie publishers/presses, indie books on your to-read list, indie authors I read before they became traditionally published, etc.) (submitted by @dark.shelf.of.wonders and Books Are The New Black)

I like your honesty. My hubby said asking someone for a signature doesn’t count as meeting an author. I’d say chatting does! There!
I know probably most of the book list participants have met authors, but I cannot say that. However, it seems like it’d be fun. :)
I don’t think I’ve ever met an author outside of an indie author at my local bookstore. For me, most bookish events don’t seem to line up with my schedule or, worse, my budget!
Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/c-author-names-alphabet-challenge/
I never even look at possible book events at bookstores. I should though! You never know who MAY be having an event there. :)
Have a good week and a good day. Here is my TTT. https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2026/09/15/top-ten-tuesday-41-the-authors-i-want-to-meet/
You too.
I miss the heyday of blogs so much!
Right? Those days were so fun to be a small part of. :)
Rissi, You have chatted with some exceptional authors. I’ve not yet had the pleasure of meeting them. However, I have met Lynne Gentry and DiAnn Mills.
That is SO cool, Caryl. :) Hope you are able to meet other favorites too.
It’s always thrilling to interact with an author whether in person or online.
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
It is indeed so fun. :)
I love your take on the topic and chatting with these authors is definitely such a cool experience!
Thanks! It was fun to remember. :)
Whoa so many authors to have actually conversed with! What fun memories for sure. I had only met one in person and one comic book illustrator (if that counts) so I had to change up the prompt a bit myself.

Meeting an illustrator totally does count! :)
I have not met any of these authors, but very cool that you have had chats with them. I have read and loved books by most of the authors you listed. Have a great week!
Yes! So many fabulous authors out there to chat with. :)
Back when Twitter was still Twitter, and book conventions were still a big party, not a money grab, authors would mingle with readers all the time. I took a long break from blogging, came back and I feel like everything has changed. I’m grateful for the memories I have from over a decade ago, tho.
Everything has INDEED changed, Kristin. It’s all so different now. :)
Fun experiences you’ve had
😊
I didn’t do the topic today because my list of authors I’ve met in person would be VERY short. However, I didn’t even think about those I’ve interviewed on my blog. Great idea! I interviewed a bunch of them back in the day…
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Oooo, fun! That would have been something unique to look back on. Maybe next time. :)
That is so nice that you’ve met that many others and interacted with them. I’ve never met an author in person, but I have chatted with several: Robin Patchen, Mary Alford, Beth White, Carolyn Miller, Carrie Fancett Pagels & Kelsey Lasher.
