True Love Blooms: See Love and a New Garden Bloom!
To dream is to hold onto and continue to nurture the dream her father began twenty some years ago. Vikki George (Sara Rue) is passionate about her green thumb talents and the community garden her father started. Now, Vikki manages the garden where the neighborhood comes to plant their colorful blooms and vegetables. All of this is well and good until life hits a snag.
A development company has just bought the property and its CEO Chase Devine (Jordan Bridges) is about to use the land for new condos. Naturally, this isn’t something Vikki is going to accept, and so she takes on the role of activist in order to fight for this place she loves.
True Love Blooms (2019) Hallmark Review
If winter is still hanging on in your part of the world, all you need do is turn on Hallmark Channel, and you’ll discover a myriad of colorful new romances to enjoy. This one in particular will brighten anyone’s day with its colorful blooms and pretty gardens. From tulips to azaleas, this romance features a garden’s encyclopedia of pretty plants (and colors, too).
Sara Rue returns to leading lady status in this, and fits the character well. Prior to this, she was in All for Love, which remains one of my favorites. While it remains so over this one, I did still enjoy what’s in store for us in this ‘Love’ story. Executive produced by Sara, this is an idea she brought to Hallmark, and it’s one that fits very well with their brand and campaign. For anyone who’s a procedural TV fan as I am, you might also recognize the leading man as Frankie Rizzoli from Rizzoli and Isles.
FILM REVIEW | Dorfman in Love: A Comedy That Stands Up for Self Worth!
The direction of this film does come across as a little awkward in spaces, but it doesn’t ruin the story. There’s a cute little “plant trope” and the cast of supporting characters help to fuel that sense of community. Some of the tropes are intact in this script, but some of them receive a different spin too. This always keeps things fresh.
Those who like the cast or this network’s brand in general won’t want to miss this seasonal romantic-comedy. It’s sure to make you smile which means your DVR will want to have space to include this one.
